Tara Woodcox is explaining her not so sanitary hack.
Following the widespread attention her November 2025 TikTok video received – in which she suggested using hotel room coffee makers to clean underwear – the creator responded to criticism and explained her reasoning behind the unusual tip.
In a TikTok video posted on February 23rd, she responded to comments saying, “It’s funny that so many of you think…” and admitted she’d never actually done what they were talking about.
Someone questioned her motives, asking why she would even consider such a thing, highlighting the family tension the situation caused.
After Tara said she “heard it from a friend,” the person exclaimed, “Your friend isn’t very smart.”
Despite the criticism, Tara expressed gratitude to those who defended her in the comments section, even amidst heated arguments, and clarified the background of her original post.
She explained she’d posted a suggestion about avoiding hotel coffee pots. A flight attendant friend had told her about a concerning practice, which she found really off-putting. She admitted she’d never liked Keurig machines anyway, not just because of the story about someone finding underwear in one, but because she believes hotel Keurigs are generally not cleaned properly.
She admitted she wasn’t sure what to say about the rumors, explaining that they weren’t true. She added that people seemed to be enjoying the speculation, and she was happy to let them continue believing what they wanted.
People reacted enthusiastically when Tara first posted her video on November 5th, with many calling it an incredibly impressive feat.
She demonstrated how to ‘clean’ underwear using a hotel coffee machine by explaining you replace the coffee grounds with underwear, run the machine, and then use a hair dryer to dry them. She insisted this method works, though she performed the demonstration without actually using any underwear.
