Abby Howard and Matt Howard have good news to share.
I was so excited to see Abby and Matt announced they’re expecting another baby! They shared some adorable pictures of their sonogram on Instagram on March 24th – it was a whole carousel of sweet moments, and I couldn’t be happier for them.
The couple announced they are expecting their fourth child with a post featuring their sons, Griffin, 3, and August, 2. They captioned the photos with a rainbow emoji and expressed feeling incredibly thankful.
Abby and Matt—who have been married since 2019—were celebrated by their friends in the comments.
I was so thrilled to see Jessica Biao’s reaction – she simply wrote, “No way. I’m so happy for you guys!” And Eamon and Bec, who are such a sweet couple themselves, shared, “The best news!!! So so happy for your growing family.” Even Tori Roloff from Little People Big World chimed in, saying, “Congratulations friends!!!!!! What a blessed sweet babe!” It’s just wonderful to see everyone so excited!
Abby is pregnant again six months after sadly losing her baby girl at 17 weeks due to a genetic condition that developed during the pregnancy.
We are heartbroken to share the loss of our baby girl, who was born too soon. During a routine check-up, our doctor couldn’t find a heartbeat. An ultrasound confirmed our worst fears, and we were told the devastating news that our baby had passed away.
At the time, Abby and Matt remained optimistic amid their shared grief.
The news was shocking and heartbreaking, they shared. They’re incredibly saddened by the loss, but also deeply grateful for the time they had with her. Despite everything, they’re still holding onto hope, which has offered them comfort in many ways.
Abby recently discussed her pregnancy journey and explained why she was initially reluctant to share the news, especially after previously revealing the heartbreaking loss of their daughter.
She told Matt on their March 25th podcast, The Unplanned, that she felt incredibly fortunate. While she wasn’t feeling too badly, she was experiencing frequent headaches. She admitted to feeling a sense of relief about publicly discussing what she was going through, but also expressed some hesitation, saying about 60% of her didn’t want to share it.
She continued, explaining how difficult it was to share their miscarriage publicly. She felt vulnerable, saying that being so open and honest about something so personal came with unexpected pressures, and that she was, after all, just a person dealing with a very fragile situation.
Matt reassured his wife, noticing how radiant she looked. He told her, “You’re absolutely glowing – this is the most beautiful you’ve looked during any of our pregnancies.”
