Titus Welliver opens up about the possibility of Bosch: Legacy season 4.
It’s been nearly a year since the end of Bosch: Legacy‘s third season. While Jamie Welliver has continued to play Harry Bosch in the Ballard spin-off, the focus of the Bosch universe is now on a new series showing Bosch’s beginnings as a police officer.
During a conversation with Grant Hermanns from ScreenRant, Titus Welliver discussed the potential for a fourth season of Bosch: Legacy. He’s previously noted that Prime Video is a popular platform for action-packed dramas, pointing to shows like Bosch, Reacher, Cross, and Jack Ryan as examples.
Welliver has mentioned that Jack Ryan is expected to return in a new movie on Prime Video. He also suggests a revival for Harry Bosch is possible, as he’s discussed it with Bosch author Michael Connelly and producer Henrik Bastin. However, their main priority right now is launching the upcoming prequel series.
I’m running short on time, so before we finish, I wanted to ask about future Bosch-related projects. We know seasons 2 of Ballard and Start of Watch are coming, but I’m still hoping for a fourth season of Legacy. We’ve discussed the possibility of a movie before. With Amazon MGM still involved with the Bosch universe, has there been any progress on that front?
I’ve definitely had discussions with Michael Connelly and Henrik Bastin about potential projects, but nothing is confirmed yet. Right now, they’re really focused on getting ‘Start of Watch’ finished, which I’m really looking forward to, and I’m thrilled for everyone working on it.
Even Without Bosch: Legacy, 2026 Is Big For Welliver
While Harry Bosch won’t be the central focus, Titus Welliver is returning to play his character in season two of Ballard. The Prime Video series will continue the story after Renée Ballard (played by Maggie Q) is wrongly arrested for murder. Currently, there’s no exact release date, but Ballard is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2026.
Welliver will play a bigger part in The Westies, a new drama coming to MGM+. It’s been compared to Peaky Blinders, but set in Ireland. The story starts in the early 1980s, when the building of the Jacob Javitz Convention Center in the Westies’ neighborhood of Hell’s Kitchen offers the promise of significant profits.
As a big fan of crime dramas, I’m really excited about this new series! It comes from the creator of Narcos, Chris Brancato, and Michael Panes, and it’s all about the clash between the Italian Mafia families and a tough Irish gang called the Westies. Plus, J.K. Simmons, Tom Brittney, and Jessica Frances Dukes are all starring – a fantastic cast! It’s dropping on MGM+ on July 12th, which is cool because it fits nicely with the Bosch universe they’re building.
The Bosch: Prequel Is Already Filming
As a big fan of the Bosch universe, I’m really excited about the prequel, Start of Watch! Cameron Monaghan is going to be playing a young Harry Bosch, and they’re filming right now in Los Angeles. It’ll be streaming on MGM+, but we don’t have a release date yet. It’s a cool idea to explore his origins and see how he became the detective we know. And honestly, even with this new prequel, I’m hoping we haven’t seen the last of Bosch: Legacy – a continuation wouldn’t be unwelcome at all!
