A new piece of fan art imagines Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland together as their different Spider-Man versions, sparking excitement about a potential reunion in a future Avengers movie, possibly titled Doomsday. Tom Holland has been the main Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since first appearing in Captain America: Civil War and is preparing for a new series of solo movies, starting with Spider-Man: Brand New Day in 2026. However, he isn’t the only actor to portray Peter Parker, as both Maguire and Garfield have already returned to the role within the MCU.
Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield previously joined forces as Spider-Man in the 2021 film Spider-Man: No Way Home, battling villains from different universes. Though Maguire and Garfield’s Spider-Men went back to their own worlds at the end of that movie, rumors suggest they might appear in Avengers: Doomsday, the next big team-up movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Holland’s involvement isn’t official yet, fan art shared on Instagram by @spdrmnkyxxiii shows him alongside other Spider-Man versions in what looks like a dark and intense Avengers: Doomsday scene.
It Makes Sense for Tobey Maguire & Andrew Garfield to Join Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday

So far, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland haven’t been confirmed to appear in the new Avengers: Doomsday movie, despite being a great match for the Russo brothers’ vision. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is scheduled to return to the MCU in July 2026, just a few months before Doomsday comes out, so it would be exciting if his next film hinted at his role in the December 2026 sequel. Now that Robert Downey Jr. is playing Doctor Doom, it would be particularly interesting to see how Peter Parker reacts to facing a villain who looks like his old mentor.
The upcoming Avengers: Doomsday is predicted to center around Doctor Doom’s journey through different realities. His goal is to eliminate alternate worlds and prevent incursions that threaten the entire multiverse. The story will likely take him to various universes, including the home world of the Fantastic Four (Earth 828), the Illuminati’s reality (Earth 838), and the X-Men’s universe (Earth 10005), before he arrives at the main Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Earth (Earth 616). Fans have speculated that the world of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man films (from 2002-2007) is Earth 96283, and Andrew Garfield’s Amazing Spider-Man universe is Earth 120703. Doctor Doom may also travel to these realities during his quest.
The events of Spider-Man: No Way Home have significantly altered the timelines of the five villains brought to Earth-616, and their return home could create major disruptions – something Doctor Doom would likely try to fix. Andrew Garfield insists he won’t be involved in Doomsday, similar to his position before No Way Home, but Tobey Maguire hasn’t said whether he’ll reprise his role. It would be fantastic to see all three Spider-Men – and potentially other Spider-People from across the multiverse – team up to fight Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.
