It’s a disappointing day for WWE fans. Peacock, which became the exclusive streaming home for WWE content in the U.S. in 2021, has suddenly removed a large portion of its WWE library, leaving very little available to watch.
On December 30th, Peacock removed a huge amount of older WWE content from its streaming service. This included everything from the WCW and ECW libraries to classic territory events and many past WWF and WWE shows. While fans knew some content would eventually be removed as the WWE-Peacock contract nears its 2026 end date, the removal happened much sooner than expected.
Where To Stream the WWE Library Following Its Exit From Peacock?
Everyone’s wondering what’s going to happen to WWE’s extensive video library. Unlike shows like Raw and SmackDown, which have moved to other streaming services like Netflix and USA Network, the WWE library has left Peacock without a new home. According to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, the library will no longer be available on Peacock at the end of the month, and its future in the United States is currently unknown.
Several companies are in the running to acquire the WWE’s content library. ESPN has been considered the frontrunner for a while, especially after recently securing the U.S. streaming rights for major events like WrestleMania, taking them away from Peacock. However, Netflix is also a strong contender, having just signed a huge, ten-year, $5 billion deal to be the exclusive home of Monday Night Raw.
It’s unclear what will happen to WWE’s older video content, which is currently unavailable. Dave Meltzer cautioned that whoever acquires it in the future might not preserve everything, particularly the earliest footage from the territorial days, as they may not see it as valuable.
The Future of WWE on Peacock
Things aren’t looking good for WWE on Peacock. Their current agreement ends in 2026, and a lot of WWE content is already being removed from the streaming service. While a significant amount of content has been taken down, some titles are still available to watch on Peacock for now.
Despite a major removal of titles on December 30th, some WWE content will stay on Peacock. NBCUniversal confirmed to Cord Cutters News that WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, and Friday Night SmackDown will remain available, along with full replays of WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event through 2029. The availability of other WWE content on Peacock is currently unknown.
