Todd and Julie Chrisley break silence on their ‘weird’ reunion after 2 years apart while in prison

Todd and Julie Chrisley shared their feelings on reuniting with one another following a two-year separation due to incarceration.

Previously, the main characters of the show “Chrisley Knows Best” spent time in prison due to charges related to bank fraud and tax evasion. However, they were later granted a pardon by former U.S. President Donald Trump on May 28.

After being separated, the pair have now reconnected following their release, and they’ve been discussing their heartfelt experiences in a recent interview with ABC News Studios. In this interview, they reminisced about their initial meeting after many years apart.

‘I was a little nervous,’ Julie, 52, said about her reunion with Todd during the interview. 

Although you might have thought, “Wow, I’ve been gone for so long,” upon seeing him, it felt like no time had elapsed at all.

Todd, who is 56 years old, mentioned that the thought of reunion seemed strange since he hadn’t truly viewed his separation from Julie as a division.

‘And you know for me, it’s just weird, because she was never away from me,’ he explained. 

‘Even the whole time we were apart. She was with me every second, every breath that I took.’

Todd went on to say, “When I laid eyes on her, I felt an overwhelming desire to embrace her. It wasn’t merely gratitude; it was as if I had found my way back home.

Julie added that there was ‘laughter and tears’ at their reunion, which was filmed. 

Todd chimed in, ‘A lot of that came after the cameras were not on.’

Following a long period of separation, Todd and Julie’s initial joint activity was enjoying a meal with their loved ones.

Todd expressed, “We have a fresh beginning ahead, don’t you think? And getting to sleep in my own bed feels like being in heaven.

Both of them agreed that being able to shower at the leisure, without shower shoes, was thrilling. 

‘It was almost like your first sexual encounter. That good,’ Todd joked.

But the most emotional part of coming home was reuniting with their daughter Chloe, 12. 

Julie mentioned, “You understand that although we’ve met during visits, it just doesn’t compare to being together at home.

As we journeyed back, she kept tabs on our location via her phone, eager to see how near I was. In my opinion, that instance held a unique charm for her.

Moreover, Todd lately disclosed the ideas swirling within him upon receiving their sentences together with his spouse.

In simpler terms, Todd Chrisley shared with Lara Trump that on a particular evening, he felt extremely upset with God due to being separated from his wife Julie for the first time since they got married. That night, when the lights went out, he broke down in tears and eventually fell asleep.

Chrisley remembered, “I had always been there whenever my children woke up in the morning or went to bed at night – I’d never missed those moments.

Originally given a sentence of 12 years, it was eventually reduced to 10 years, and he served his term at the Pensacola Federal Prison Camp in Florida. Meanwhile, his wife, Julie, served her time in a different facility, the Federal Medical Center Lexington, which is located in Kentucky.

‘And I just said, God, why?’ Chrisley continued. ‘I’ve tried to be a loyal and faithful servant.’

‘Why are you allowing this to happen? You know these things are not true,’ he said.

As a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share an observation: It appears that, in certain circumstances, individuals might resort to using falsified documents and inflated financial reports to secure substantial loans, such as the $30 million plus they allegedly obtained. These funds, in turn, were utilized to maintain a luxurious lifestyle, a fact evident in their popular reality TV series that ran for an impressive 10 seasons, showcasing their extravagant way of life.

In a vision that felt almost too real, I found myself face-to-face with a divine presence who spoke to me. He revealed, “I’ve strategically placed you exactly where I intended, and as you move on, the seeds you’ve sown will flourish.” This is how Chrisley retold the story.

Reflecting on that dream now, it becomes clear to me why he mentioned “they will rise when you leave,” as it seems those people are indeed rising under President Trump. In light of this, I feel deeply appreciative.
