Savannah Chrisley consistently stood by her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, as they navigated their way through their previous imprisonment.
However, Todd, aged 56, openly acknowledged that he wasn’t able to reciprocate immediately, disclosing that he didn’t catch Savannah, then 27, during season 11 of The Masked Singer in 2024, when she was the Afghan Hound.
During an interview on ABC News Studios’ show titled “The Chrisleys: Life After Lockup“, which aired on June 29th, Todd made fun of his daughter’s singing abilities. He jokingly stated, according to Entertainment Weekly, that he missed “The Masked Singer” because he was ashamed for her. “I knew she would participate,” he said, “but she can’t sing.
As a dedicated follower, I couldn’t help but chuckle when the news about Julie, aged 52, broke out. She mentioned that she “witnessed” the event while Todd and his partner were serving their time for bank and tax fraud crimes. Previously sentenced to a total of 19 years in prison, this duo, known as Todd and Julie, received a pardon from none other than President Donald Trump in May. They each served slightly over two years of their sentences.
Savannah didn’t mind Todd’s confession; instead, she humbly referred to herself as not a great singer when she performed with her parents on the news special.
Todd promptly expressed his pride to viewers about his daughter’s choice to be a part of The Masked Singer. He explained, “It seems wonderful that she took the plunge without worrying about her skills.” This was reported in an interview, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The ABC News Studios’ show came following a series of interviews by the family, following Todd and Julie’s release from prison. During an interview on June 28th, broadcasted on My View With Lara Trump, Todd shared that his son, Grayson (who is 19 years old), requested to sleep in their room on the first night back home in Tennessee after being released from prison. The couple had been incarcerated in federal facilities in Florida and Kentucky, and they have consistently asserted their innocence throughout their imprisonment.
“I found myself in a moment where I couldn’t resist asking, ‘Can we share a bed tonight?’ I posed this question to him, and he graciously consented. Beyond Grayson and Savannah, there are four more members in our family: Chase, my eldest, who is 29, and our little angel, Chloe, aged 12. Chloe is actually Kyle’s biological daughter, making her my step-daughter, as I share two children from a past marriage.” (Todd)
Savannah elaborated on Todd’s account of Grayson’s apprehension, sharing with Lara Trump (who is Eric Trump’s wife) from Fox News: “The first night [Grayson] expressed fear, saying ‘I’m worried I won’t wake up in the morning because they might not be here.’
During the weekend interview, Savannah shared her thoughts about her parents’ mental state before they received a presidential pardon. She mentioned that Todd and Julie believed their sole route to freedom lay in Donald Trump winning the 2020 election.
In a personal memory, Savannah recounted how Grayson and she watched the election unfold side by side, marking a significant moment as Grayson cast his first-ever vote. As the result came in and the president was declared victorious, both of them burst into tears. Overwhelmed, Grayson embraced Savannah tightly, knowing that this victory was their only path forward.
