Tokyo Game Show 2026 Confirmed for September 17th to 21st Next Year

Now that Tokyo Game Show 2025 has concluded after running from September 25th to September 28th, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association has revealed impressive attendance numbers. According to Gematsu, the event welcomed a total of 263,101 visitors over its 4-day run. This marks a significant turnout for the gaming event.

The first two days of Tokyo Game Show 2025 were specifically for industry professionals, functioning like a trade show for meetings and networking. These business days attracted 52,352 and 54,779 visitors, respectively. The subsequent two days were open to the general public, drawing crowds of 77,415 and 78,555 people.

Just wanted to share some numbers from the show. Compared to Tokyo Game Show 2024, this year’s event had a little fewer people come through the doors. TGS 2024 had 274,739 attendees, if you’re curious. But the good news is both this year *and* last year were still bigger than 2023, which brought in 243,238 people. What’s really interesting is that the 2025 show had more people showing up during the business days, but fewer during the days open to everyone compared to TGS 2024.

To give you an idea of scale, Tokyo Game Show 2023 had 33,706 and 36,109 visitors during its business days, and 96,033 and 77,390 attendees on the days open to the general public.

In addition to all of this, the Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association in Japan has announced the dates for next year’s Tokyo Game Show 2026: September 17-21, 2026. Notably, TGS 2025 will be the first time the event lasts for five days instead of the usual four. The show will once again be held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba. This is a significant change for the long-running event.

The Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association highlighted that Tokyo Game Show 2025 showcased 1,136 exhibitors representing 47 countries and regions worldwide. The trade association pointed out that this number of exhibitors was a new record, surpassing all previous shows. It was a truly global event!

The event was a big success, attracting a large number of visitors over its two days open to the public. The association also reported that business discussions were very productive. Their statement indicated that there were 3,591 scheduled meetings between professionals in the gaming industry during the two business days. In addition, the event featured 21 different programs streamed live on its official social media channels – including YouTube, Twitch, and X.

Wow, Tokyo Game Show was amazing this year! One of the coolest things for me was Microsoft finally showing off the next Forza Horizon game – Forza Horizon 6! They haven’t shared a ton of info yet, but the trailer made it clear we’re heading to Japan! I’m so excited to explore the cities, towns, and countryside, and really dive into Japan’s awesome car culture. It looks like the Horizon Festival is going to be incredible!

A number of leading companies were present at the event, such as Capcom, Sega, Konami, Koei Tecmo, and PlayStation. Attendees also had the chance to try out many new games with playable demos, including Resident Evil Requiem, which was showcased on the Nintendo Switch 2.
