Prime Video announced the release date for the new Jack Ryan movie, ‘Ghost War,’ and shared a first look trailer with fans.
As a huge fan of the Jack Ryan universe, I’m really excited about the new action thriller coming to the streamer! It’s essentially continuing the story from the original series, and John Krasinski is back as Jack Ryan, playing that fantastic ex-Marine turned CIA agent. Mark your calendars – it’s dropping worldwide on May 20th!
In Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan: Ghost War, Jack Ryan is pulled back into the dangerous world of espionage when a secret operation reveals a threatening conspiracy.
Things get really intense for Jack when he’s up against a secret, off-the-books operation and time is running out. Luckily, I see him team up with his former boss, James Greer, and a sharp MI6 agent named Emma Marlow. From what I understand, they’re thrown into a dangerous game of deception, and they’re forced to deal with secrets from their pasts. It sounds like this mission is the most challenging and personal one any of them have ever taken on.
The latest video shows John Krasinski and Kirby Pierce returning to their roles, alongside new cast member Millie Miller, all in action.

Michael Kelly, known from “House of Cards,” and Betty Gabriel, from “Clickbait,” are reprising their roles as security contractor Mike November and CIA Director Elizabeth Wright. Joining them are new cast members Mckenna Bridger, Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge, and JJ Feild.
The screenplay was written by John Krasinski and Aaron Rabin, who also worked on ‘Nobody 2’, and is based on the world of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan stories.
In a May 2025 interview with Collider, John Krasinski hinted at what viewers can anticipate, explaining that while he enjoyed the extended format of the show, he found it exciting to create a movie by streamlining the story and increasing the suspense.
We finally get to do all the exciting, large-scale action sequences that weren’t possible with a TV series.
