Tom Holland caught a silly mistake in his web.
The Spider-Man: No Way Home star sweetly corrected a reporter who called Zendaya-his fiancée since January-his “girlfriend” during a discussion on stage.
The reporter remembered bringing his daughter to a recent event where she had the chance to meet the Euphoria actress, as seen in a clip posted to X on Sept. 29. He jokingly said, “So, I was father of the year.”
In response to the anecdote, Tom laughed off the label before quickly correcting, “Fiancée.”
It’s understandable why the Uncharted actor wanted to clarify his relationship with Zendaya, as it became public knowledge back in 2021. His father, Dominic Holland, previously shared that he put a lot of consideration into proposing, which took place during the 2024 holiday season.
In a Patreon post from January, Dominic shared that he had purchased a ring. He also had spoken with her father and received his blessing to ask for her daughter’s hand in marriage. Tom had meticulously planned everything – the timing, location, the proposal itself, and even what he would wear.
Zendaya is just as excited to share evidence that she’s getting married. Actually, the Dune: Part II actress first revealed their big news back in January. She publicly displayed her large five-carat diamond ring on that finger while attending the 2025 Golden Globes.
Despite appearing thrilled about their wedding plans, Zendaya and her partner aren’t hurrying to get married, as stated by Zendaya’s stylist, Law Roach.
In fact, as of July, the duo hadn’t even started wedding planning.
“The project hasn’t begun yet,” Law explained to TopMob News. “Zendaya is currently busy with several films. She’s presently filming the newest Dune movie, which keeps her occupied. Because she’s involved in so many projects, we’re not rushed. We have plenty of time.”
But when their special day does finally come, it’s guaranteed to bring the waterworks.
“They have a deep and long-lasting connection,” Law shared. “It’s wonderful that the world has been able to witness and enjoy their love story.”
For everything to know about Tom and Zendaya’s future wedding, keep reading.
Zendaya and Tom Holland, engaged since December 2024, are taking their time with wedding planning.
“I’m taking a break until 2026,” Zendaya’s stylist of many years, Law Roach, jokingly told TopMob News in April 2025 when asked about plans for Zendaya’s future projects.
A few months after that, he told TopMob at the Las Culturistas Culture Awards that they hadn’t even begun the process yet. He clarified that Zendaya was busy with numerous film projects. She was currently filming the next installment of Dune, which kept her occupied. He added, “It’s a lot of movies, so we have time – plenty of time.”
There will likely be dresses – one for the ceremony, another for the party, and perhaps others for related events. (However, don’t be surprised if there’s also a beautiful outfit with pants somewhere in the plans.)
However, Law doesn’t believe there will be a detailed, glamorous account of how everything unfolded, suggesting that “nobody will ever see” her wedding outfit. She doesn’t expect a public record of the event, and predicts her bridal look will remain private.
Zendaya and Tom are “making a real effort to keep things private,” according to the Project Runway judge, who shared this on a May episode of Complex‘s Please Explain. She explained that there won’t be a Vogue feature or wedding photos, and anyone they invite will respect their desire for privacy, meaning it will be a stunning dress that remains unseen by the public.
When it comes to fashion, Zendaya has a few go-to designers. Among those closest to her are Nicolas Ghesquière of Louis Vuitton and Michael Kors. She also frequently wears pieces from Versace, Valentino, and Tom Ford.
It’s clear that Tom Holland and Zendaya’s wedding could be a very glamorous event with lots of famous guests if they choose to have a large celebration.
Besides her parents and siblings (Zendaya has three half-sisters and two half-brothers from her father’s side, and Tom has three younger brothers), the wedding guest list might include friends like Timothée Chalamet, Bella Thorne and Hunter Schafer. The groom is also good friends with Jacob Batalon, who portrays Peter Parker’s close friend Ned in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Timothée described his Dune costar as someone he’s grown very close to, saying, “She’s really become a sister,” in an interview with Variety in 2022. He added, “I’m so grateful to have her as a partner, a sister, and a friend.”
Storm Reid, known for her role as Zendaya’s sister in Euphoria, shared with People magazine that she’d be thrilled to be a flower girl at the wedding. However, she also emphasized, “no matter when it happens, I’m really happy for her, and I’ll be there to support her.”
There’s going to be dancing, of course, and when it comes to other planned entertainment, Holland recently became friends with Benson Boone-and he’s available that day.
“Absolutely, without a doubt,” the “Slow It Down” singer said to TopMob News at the 2025 American Music Awards in May, when asked if he would perform for the couple. “I definitely wouldn’t miss that opportunity.”
And, really, will the marriage even be legal if the newlyweds don’t engage in a lip sync battle?
The wedding bands the couple chooses are sure to look great with Zendaya’s engagement ring, which seems to be the 5.02-carat East-West Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring by British jeweler Jessica McCormack. According to the jeweler’s website, the ring features a vintage-inspired setting made with 18-karat white and yellow gold.
Tom’s dad, comedian Dominic Holland, revealed in a January 2025 Patreon post that Tom had proposed and gotten engaged. He wrote that Tom had spoken to her father and received his blessing before asking for her hand in marriage. Tom had carefully planned every detail… including the timing, location, what he would say, and even what he would wear.
Oh my gosh, can you even *imagine* Zendaya and Tom getting married? They could honestly get married anywhere in the world, but honestly, wouldn’t it be *perfect* if they got married in England, you know, where Tom is from? I mean, it just feels right, doesn’t it? Somewhere around there, it would be absolutely dreamy! I’m already picturing it…sigh.
If you’re looking to have a fairy-tale day, the United Kingdom has castles.
Or lack thereof.
I’ve always really connected with what Zendaya shared with GQ back in 2021. She said, “I think loving someone is a sacred thing and a special thing and something that you want to deal with and go through and experience and enjoy amongst the two people that love each other.” It just perfectly captures how I feel – love should be something truly cherished and experienced together.
