Although The Fantastic Four: First Steps has only been in theaters for two weeks, Marvel Studios isn’t giving it much time to settle down. Instead, they have released Eyes of Wakanda, an animated project set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is now available on Disney+. This series tells tales of various War Dogs throughout history. On top of that, work has already begun on another significant MCU project, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with Tom Holland reprising his role as the main character. However, fans will have to be patient about the movie’s storyline because Holland recently made a big announcement on social media.
Yesterday, Marvel Studios unveiled a brief sneak peek of Tom Holland’s new costume for the movie “Brand New Day“. The teaser hinted at a suit that looked somewhat like one Peter Parker assembled towards the end of “Spider-Man: No Way Home“, but the presence of raised webbing led some to speculate it might resemble Tobey Maguire’s costume from Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man” trilogy. However, all doubts were put to rest when Holland shared a complete glimpse of the suit in a video captured on set.
It seems likely that they’re revealing the new costume for “Brand New Day” ahead of schedule because filming is taking place outdoors in Glasgow, Scotland. This way, fans with cameras can easily spot Tom Holland in his fresh outfit from afar and Marvel Studios can maintain control over how it’s presented rather than leaving it to the Internet to speculate and create its own story. Interestingly, this isn’t the only sneak peek Marvel Studios has given us recently.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is Bringing in the Big Guns
Following the unveiling of the costume sneak peek, there’s been a buzz that Mark Ruffalo has officially joined the cast of “Brand New Day“, solidifying speculations that had been swirling for quite some time. Alongside Holland, the seasoned MCU actor will appear alongside Jon Bernthal, who will make his first big-screen comeback as the Punisher. Although the specifics about Frank Castle’s interactions with Spider-Man and the Hulk remain unclear, it’s been confirmed that they’ll engage in at least one confrontation within the movie.
In “Brand New Day,” there won’t be much time for squabbles, as it seems the storyline will involve a good deal of villains. Although there are whispers that Mister Negative might be the one orchestrating events, he has not been cast yet. Only Michael Mando’s Scorpion has been confirmed to play a villainous role so far. Regardless of whether Spider-Man faces two or five antagonists, he will be prepared for whatever challenges “Brand New Day” presents, especially with his new, stylish costume that should boost his confidence significantly.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters on July 31, 2026.
