Tom Holland is swinging into recovery mode.
The actor has temporarily stopped working on *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* due to an injury sustained while performing a stunt on September 19th, according to several news sources.
Tom suffered a minor concussion while filming in Glasgow, Scotland, and is taking a short break to recover. Sources say he should be back to filming as Spider-Man within a few days.
TopMob News has reached out to Tom’s reps for comment and has not yet heard back.
Despite temporarily pausing his work as Spider-Man, the 29-year-old actor appeared happy and relaxed while supporting his family’s charity, The Brothers Trust, at an event in London on September 20th.
Tom held his third yearly Posh Pub Quiz at Christie’s, and his fiancée, Zendaya – whom he proposed to earlier in the year – was there with him.
Even though the actor from *Uncharted* recently had an accident on the set of the upcoming Marvel movie, scheduled to release on July 31, 2026, he’s shared how excited he is to be working on the fourth film, particularly since the pandemic caused delays with the previous one.
He told Flip Your Wig in July that playing Spider-Man feels like reconnecting with a close friend. He also explained that the last movie was heavily impacted by Covid, forcing them to film the whole thing on sound stages and limiting what they could do.
We’re going back to traditional filmmaking techniques and shooting on location, which is why we’re starting in Glasgow. We’ll be using the city’s streets as the backdrop for a large-scale scene, and it’s aiming for that same feel as the original *Spider-Man* movie.
After the release of *Spider-Man: Homecoming* in 2017, Tom shared that working on *Brand New Day* – featuring Zendaya, Sadie Sink, and Liza Colón-Zayas – will be a welcome and refreshing change.
Tom Holland described what it felt like to reprise his role as Peter Parker, calling it his ‘fourth day one’ as Spider-Man.
He shared that wearing the suit felt different this time around. He also mentioned it was the first time they’d had fans present on set from the very beginning, which made the experience especially exciting for everyone involved.
He mentioned they had a lot of people he already knew working on the set. He said he was going to try his best and hoped everything went well, though he admitted he was feeling a little pressure.
Now that Tom is getting ready to reprise his role as Spider-Man, here’s a look at other celebrities who have opened up about their health challenges.
Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Brie Bella – my absolute queen – told everyone that one of her breast implants actually *moved* after getting hit with an elbow during a match in July 2025! It was from Piper Niven, can you imagine?! Seriously, Brie is a warrior, and the fact that she’s still out there wrestling after something like that is just… incredible. I was so worried when I heard, but she’s a total beast and handled it like a champ! It just proves how tough she is, honestly.
She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, that they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as her professional commitments ended – after she retired – she would return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she anticipated future use and wanted it to be presentable.
Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in *12 Years a Slave*, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids-benign growths in or around the uterus-in 2014, the year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.
She didn’t reveal her diagnosis until 2025, sharing on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with it for over ten years.
She explained that many girls are taught to accept period pain as a normal part of being a woman. This often leaves them dealing with a common issue in silence and feeling isolated.
In July 2025, the actress from *Daisy Jones & The Six* revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happens when a gap develops in the abdominal or groin muscles, and in her case, it was caused by wearing very tight pants.
Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) asking why she hadn’t tweeted recently. Suki replied, jokingly suggesting the reason was a hernia she got six months ago from wearing very tight pants, and that she’s been afraid to mention it.
In April 2025, the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star shared that he was recovering from surgery to repair a nearly ruptured appendix.
Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He discovered he had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.
He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”
A Racing Louisville midfielder fell to the ground shortly after the start of her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.
According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate supporting her, just before she collapsed. Trainers were immediately called to assess her condition.
I was absolutely devastated when I heard about Savannah. The NWSL posted on X that she got immediate medical attention right there on the field, and they rushed her to the hospital to check her out further. Thankfully, they said she’s stable and alert, which is the best news I could’ve hoped for, honestly. I’m still so worried, but relieved to know she’s okay enough to be conscious and stable. I’m sending all my positive energy her way!
Adam Devine revealed that injuries from a childhood accident – he was hit by a cement truck at age 11 – continue to bother him now.
“It’s been a terrible experience,” Devine shared on the *In Depth With Graham Bensinger* podcast in 2025. “I’ve been having spasms all over my body, and doctors told me recently-within the last year-that my condition was life-threatening.”
He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t quite working as it should.
A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said he was in so much pain he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and the pain got worse during a road trip with a friend.
He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes, saying it was ‘crazy’ even weeks after the initial issue. He explained that just a month ago, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a basic squat or stand on one foot without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”
Gina Kirschenheiter from *The Real Housewives of Orange County* revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is recovering well.
In March 2025, the actor from *30 Rock* experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.
The comedian later posted on social media to explain that he hadn’t been feeling well due to food poisoning, but was now recovering.
In February 2025, the former *Even Stevens* star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday celebration for her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.
In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone else at a party. They fired a weapon unsafely, and she was hit five times. One bullet narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit. @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her, evaluating her injuries and rushing her to the hospital.
The *Kim Possible* actor explained that a small piece of something got stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they are continuing to monitor the situation. Fortunately, their vision is currently normal.
As someone who’s spent years observing what truly matters, I can tell you that this actress’s words really resonated with me. She recently shared how incredibly grateful she is just to be alive, and it was a beautiful reminder to cherish every moment. She talked about her deep love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, and how seeing her life flash before her eyes made her realize something profound: hug the people you love, often! Because honestly, life *can* change in an instant, and those connections are everything.
Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its often negative side, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and receiving critical comments online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Schumer to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She wouldn’t have known about the condition, Cushing syndrome, without the online feedback. In a recent newsletter, Schumer shared her relief that her type of Cushing syndrome is resolving on its own and that she is healthy.
In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very fortunate, and I wouldn’t want any parent to go through that.”
In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to speak or respond when Justin noticed something was wrong. She described her right face drooping and difficulty forming sentences, but thankfully, the symptoms subsided and her speech returned.
After going to the hospital, doctors discovered Hailey had a small blood clot in her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further testing at UCLA revealed she had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO).
The blood clot had traveled to her heart, passed through the hole, and reached her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now feeling well.
The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the rest of his Justice World Tour.
In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the condition affected the nerves in his ear and face, making it difficult to move his face – he couldn’t blink, smile, or even move his nostril on one side. He also mentioned it became increasingly hard for him to eat.
Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey shared on *Good Morning America* that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that it had been a frightening experience, but he was going to be okay and she was thankful he was fine.
Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, *What Had Happened Was…*, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next twenty days.
He initially saw a doctor who gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became worried and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.
After surgery, twenty days later, on May 4th, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then went to Chicago for extensive rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed deep gratitude for the prayers he received, saying he needed every single one.
Let me tell you, filming this new competition show got *intense*! During the very first challenge – a one-mile run, believe it or not – I actually felt like I was going to collapse. It sounds dramatic, but I truly felt like I ‘died’ out there. It was a scary moment, but thankfully I pushed through!
She shared on the show *Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser* that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather before everything went dark. Afterwards, she saw light, which led her to realize she had died that day.
She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.
Emilia Clarke, known for her role in *Game of Thrones*, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for *The New Yorker*. While filming the show, she experienced a severe headache during a gym workout, followed by intense pain and vomiting. She quickly realized something was seriously wrong, suspecting brain damage.
A hospital scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She underwent immediate surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia, making it difficult to speak coherently.
After a week, the aphasia cleared up, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring a second surgery. This surgery was unsuccessful, leading to a major bleed and putting her life at risk. Doctors had to perform a more invasive procedure, accessing her brain directly through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia is now fully recovered and says she’s “at a hundred per cent.”
Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is thankful for the support of her family. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones, who quickly came to her aid. She shared with TopMob News that everyone “just came to my rescue.” Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues, including problems with her lupus and kidneys. Thankfully, Cori is now recovering well. She says she’s doing great and is regaining her motor skills, and is otherwise feeling fine.
Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her early twenties. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she revealed she experienced hearing loss, debilitating fatigue, and persistent stomach pain. Faced with conflicting diagnoses, Shailene embarked on a ten-year journey to find answers, combining traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies. This period of physical discomfort also led to emotional challenges, including fear of food and struggles with body image and identity. Ultimately, Shailene’s health improved, and she is now happy to report she is fully recovered and healthy.
