I was disappointed when I heard Spider-Man wasn’t officially in Avengers: Doomsday, but a recent comment from someone involved with the movie has given me hope that Tom Holland might still appear as Peter Parker! Even if he doesn’t, 2026 is going to be amazing for Tom Holland – he’s leading a huge cast in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which I’m really excited about.
This upcoming movie is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be released several months before Avengers: Doomsday. It has the potential to smoothly connect Spider-Man’s story to the new Avengers film. However, when the cast for Avengers: Doomsday was revealed, Spider-Man wasn’t included. Fortunately, recent news suggests Tom Holland might still appear in the film, which is encouraging for fans.
I’m Convinced Tom Hiddleston’s Spider-Man Comment Could Impact Avengers: Doomsday
Tom Hiddleston, known for playing Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, shared his favorite Spider-Man during an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. He playfully stated it was Tom Holland, adding, “For reasons I cannot disclose.” The three actors who have played Spider-Man in live-action films – Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland – all appeared together in the MCU thanks to the movie No Way Home.
As a huge Marvel fan, I’ve been thinking about Tom Hiddleston’s recent comments, and they’ve got me wondering if we’ll see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday. We know Loki’s going to be in the next Avengers film, and it sounds like he’s teaming up with Captain America, Thor, and a whole new group of heroes. Hiddleston’s vague answer almost feels like he’s hinting that he has filmed scenes with Holland, but he’s not allowed to say anything just yet! It’s definitely got me even more excited for the movie.
If Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., tries to dominate the multiverse, Loki, as its protector, would be the primary defense. Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, with his experience traveling the multiverse and his connection to Iron Man – who shares a likeness with Doctor Doom – might also end up confronting Loki.
How Tom Holland Could Join Avengers: Doomsday Despite Not Being Announced
Just because Tom Holland wasn’t mentioned in the cast announcement for Avengers: Doomsday during Marvel’s event doesn’t mean he won’t be in the movie. The first teaser trailer proved that announcements aren’t always reliable – it revealed Chris Evans will return as Steve Rogers, even though he hadn’t been officially announced and had previously said he wouldn’t be back.
Tom Holland may have already filmed a cameo as Spider-Man for Avengers: Doomsday. If not, it’s possible he could film those scenes during reshoots later this year, potentially alongside Tom Hiddleston as Loki. The production schedule of Spider-Man: Brand New Day may have initially prevented filming, but Spider-Man still has a chance to appear in Avengers: Doomsday.
