Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is Getting a Dedicated Direct on January 29th

Nintendo is kicking off 2026 with a Direct presentation dedicated to Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream. The presentation will stream on January 29th at 6 AM Pacific Time, as announced by Nintendo of America on Twitter. Expect around 20 minutes of gameplay and a detailed look at the new social simulation game.

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is the third game in the series, and it lets you create and manage a town full of Miis. These characters will interact with each other – they’ll hang out, make friends, and sometimes even argue, which can be funny or frustrating! You can also customize your Miis with lots of new options.

Okay, so it looks like the new game still lets me peek into what my Mii characters are dreaming about, which is kinda creepy but fun. But the big difference is, it seems like I’ll have more control over how they interact with each other now. We’ll probably get all the details in the upcoming Nintendo Direct, but honestly, I’m hoping this means I can cause even more hilarious and unpredictable stuff to happen. It could be really great!

With Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream set to release this year, Nintendo might also reveal a specific launch date. This game is coming to the Nintendo Switch, which is different from many of Nintendo’s other titles. It’s possible we’ll see a version for the next Switch console, or an upgrade, in the future. Keep an eye on the upcoming Nintendo Direct for more information.
