While it didn’t become a hit as quickly as Reacher did in late 2024, Cross is returning for another season on Prime Video in early 2026. The series still has a strong chance of success, largely due to the performance of Aldis Hodge (Leverage), who plays Detective Alex Cross.
Developed by Ben Watkins, known for shows like Burn Notice and Hand of God, Cross is based on the popular book series by James Patterson, giving it an existing and dedicated audience. The first season of Cross has eight episodes and centers around the main character, a detective who specializes in both homicide and forensic psychology, working in Washington D.C. The Mighty Nein
Okay, folks, if you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, now’s the moment. I’m telling you, The Mighty Nein is a must-watch – it landed in my top 10 Prime Video shows of 2025 for a reason. Think of it as a fantastic extension of the already brilliant The Legend of Vox Machina. It follows the second big story arc from the popular Dungeons & Dragons game, known as the Critical Core campaign, and it’s a truly captivating ride.
Everyone’s talking about The Mighty Nein! It’s currently the second most popular show globally, right after Fallout, and has a perfect rating on Rotten Tomatoes. With the first season finale just released this past Monday, now is the perfect time to watch all 8 episodes – each about 45 minutes long – this weekend.
Get Shorty
The popular comedy series Get Shorty, which was inspired by the 1995 movie with Gene Hackman, Danny DeVito, Rene Russo, and John Travolta, will no longer be available on Prime Video after January 1st. You can still watch all three seasons until the end of the year.
Based on the movie of the same name, the TV show Get Shorty premiered in 2017 and features Chris O’Dowd and Ray Romano. With three seasons and 27 episodes, it’s a hilariously dark and surprisingly clever series from the 2010s that you can currently stream on Prime Video.
