Okay, so I’ve been doing some serious channel surfing, and I’ve rounded up what I think are the 5 best shows on Netflix to absolutely devour this week, November 10th through the 14th, 2025. It’s a mix of stuff everyone’s talking about and a few lesser-known titles that I think deserve all the attention – seriously, add these to your watchlist now!
Want a fantastic show to watch all in one week? Here are 5 popular and highly-rated Netflix series that are trending around the world – one of them is even a huge viral sensation!
As a critic, let me tell you, this week’s streaming releases are packed! Seriously, ditch your plans, grab that remote, and get ready to dive into the biggest, buzziest shows hitting Netflix and other platforms right now. You won’t want to miss these!
Last Samurai Standing
The new Netflix series, Last Samurai Standing, arrives on November 13th. This 6-episode Japanese action thriller is expected to be a major hit and is ideal for watching over a couple of evenings. It’s predicted to quickly become popular on Netflix worldwide.
Imagine a blend of the action and drama of HBO’s Warrior with the high-stakes competition of Netflix’s Squid Game. That’s Last Samurai Standing. The show is set in 1878 and features almost 300 samurai fighting in a battle royale for a massive 100 billion yen prize. The main character, Shujiro Saga, enters this deadly competition to earn money for his family’s medical care, battling his way to the top in Tokyo.
Mrs. Playmen
This week, Netflix is releasing a new 7-part Italian series called Mrs. Playmen. It tells the story of Adelina Tattilo, who ran the famous (and controversial) erotic magazine “Playmen.” If you enjoyed shows like Minx on HBO Max or Masters of Sex on Showtime, this historical drama—based on real events—should appeal to you, as it explores similar themes of liberation and societal norms.
As a total film buff, I’m really excited about this new series, Mrs. Playmen. It’s a fascinating story about a woman named Adelina who launched the Italian version of Playboy back in the 1960s – and Italy was a very different place back then, incredibly religious and conservative. It’s dropping on Netflix this Wednesday, November 12th, and I have a feeling it’s going to be huge – I’m predicting it’ll be one of the most-watched shows on the platform this week!
As You Stood By
This month, Netflix has added a number of new shows, including the Korean crime thriller As You Stood By, which premiered on November 7th. The 8-episode series, from the director of popular K-dramas like Revenant and VIP, tells the story of two women who secretly plan to kill their husbands after suffering abuse.
I’ve been glued to Netflix lately, and I’ve noticed As You Stood By is seriously taking off! It jumped onto the global charts last week and is now sitting at number three worldwide – only behind The Witcher and The Asset. According to FlixPatrol, it looks like it’s going to stay in the Top 10 all week, which makes it one of the best new crime thrillers you can binge-watch right now.
Marines
A new documentary series called Marines is expected to be a hit on Netflix this week. It will be available starting Monday, November 10, 2025, which is the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps and the day before Veterans Day. The series offers a look behind the scenes at the military.
The new Netflix docuseries, Marines, offers a look at the rigorous training of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit. It’s created by a producer known for other popular Netflix documentaries like Last Chance U and America’s Sweethearts. With only four episodes, Marines comes to the platform shortly after the release of the military drama Boots.
The Beast In Me
Okay, so everyone’s buzzing about this new Netflix series called The Beast in Me, and honestly, I’m already hooked just by the cast! It stars Claire Danes – she’s incredible, a three-time Emmy winner from Homeland – and Matthew Rhys, who I loved in The Americans and also took home an Emmy. It’s an 8-part thriller that drops this Thursday, November 13th, and I have a feeling it’s going to be the show everyone’s talking about this week.
Danes portrays Aggie Wiggs, a writer struggling with the loss of her son. She grows suspicious of her new neighbor, Nile Jarvis (Rhys), a wealthy businessman whose wife vanished under mysterious circumstances. Driven by both inspiration and a growing sense of danger, Aggie becomes determined to uncover the truth about Nile – and what might have happened to his wife.
If you’re looking for a new show to watch on Netflix this week, don’t miss the thrilling new series, The Beast in Me. It’s a real standout!
