I noticed something really strange – episodes of Top of the Pops that Scott Mills hosted seem to have disappeared from BBC iPlayer. It’s especially odd considering how recently he left the BBC – it feels a bit pointed, honestly, after the way things ended in March.
Last month, the radio DJ was removed from his show after concerns were raised about his behavior. Police later revealed that he was questioned in 2018 regarding serious sexual offense allegations involving a boy under 16. However, the investigation was closed in 2019 because there wasn’t enough evidence to proceed.
The BBC stated they were aware of the police investigation into the presenter back in 2017. However, they said they quickly ended his contract on March 27th after receiving new information recently.
Fans have noticed that three episodes of Top of the Pops from August 1999, hosted by Scott, are no longer available on BBC iPlayer.
You can currently stream the episodes from May, June, and July, but the three episodes hosted by Mills that originally aired on August 6th, 13th, and 20th are not available.
BBC Four didn’t rerun the three episodes hosted by Mills when they showed the series again earlier this month.
TopMob recognizes that the BBC will evaluate content from their platform for potential use and repurposing, reviewing each instance individually.

Okay, so I just saw the news and wanted to share what’s going on as I understand it. Apparently, the BBC decided not to renew my contract, and that’s caused a lot of rumors to start flying around. I can confirm that the statement the Metropolitan Police put out recently is about me, but that’s all I can say for now.
In 2016, someone accused me of a past sexual offense. The police investigated, and I fully cooperated with them in 2018. They sent their findings to prosecutors, who decided there wasn’t enough evidence to file charges.
Given that this issue involves an allegation from almost 30 years ago and the police closed their investigation seven years ago, I respectfully request that the public and media respect my decision not to discuss it further.
I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has shown me kindness, especially my former coworkers and my wonderful listeners, whom I miss very much.
Since Phillip Schofield left, not only has Top of the Pops been taken off iPlayer, but several other shows he previously appeared on have also been removed.
Tyler West, the winner of Race Across the World season 4, is the new host of Race Across the World: The Detour.
The podcast series ‘Under the Bonnet: On the Road,’ created by Mills in partnership with Mercedes-Benz, is no longer available on Spotify.
Channel 4 has decided to postpone airing the final episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer, which includes Paul O’Grady. The channel stated that, considering recent events, broadcasting the episode wouldn’t be fitting, and will instead show a different episode.
