Torchwood and The Walking Dead legends star in gripping first look trailer for new drama Gone

The new ITV drama, Gone, is coming this Spring, and TopMob has an exclusive first look at its trailer. The series will have six episodes.

The trailer features David Morrissey (known from The Walking Dead) as Michael Polly, a school principal. His daughter, Alana, played by Emma Appleton (The Road Trip), asks him a simple but impactful question: where is her mother?

When Michael’s wife, Sarah, goes missing, the police begin an investigation focusing on him as the main suspect. Detective Annie Cassidy, portrayed by Eve Myles of Torchwood, leads the case.

Even Michael’s own daughter begins to wonder if he’s hiding something, and in a final moment, Annie questions whether he’s truly mourning, or if he feels responsible for what happened.

The show is written by George Kay, known for ‘Hijack’. The story centers on Michael, a respected and seemingly normal man who values structure and control in his professional life.

The story really takes off when he meets Detective Annie Cassidy – she’s sharp, determined, and immediately starts challenging him. What begins as a playful chase quickly becomes a serious investigation as she digs for the truth. But the mystery is more than just a puzzle; it’s also a story about dealing with past trauma, learning to trust others, and the lasting impact of powerful organizations.

Though the story in Gone is made up, it drew inspiration from the book To Hunt a Killer and the real-life work of former Gloucestershire Police Detective Superintendent Julie Mackay, along with ITV Crime Correspondent Robert Murphy. Both Mackay and Murphy also served as executive producers on the show.

The series also features performances by Jennifer Macbeth, Arthur Hughes, Nicholas Nunn, Elliot Cowan, Billy Barratt, Rupert Evans, Jodie McNee, Oscar Batterham, and Clare Higgins.

Gone will premiere soon on ITV and STV.
