Tower of Fantasy gained a lot of attention when it launched in 2022. It quickly became popular, and some even predicted it could rival Genshin Impact. This free-to-play anime game made a big splash at the time.
The game quickly lost popularity, as many players became frustrated with certain aspects of its design. Although a major update (version 2.0) was released a few months later, it wasn’t enough to revive interest.
After a flurry of updates, interest in Tower of Fantasy eventually faded because other, better games had come out.

I’m really excited to see Tower of Fantasy trying to win back players! After a bit of a rough start, the developers, Hotta Studio, are planning a huge overhaul of the game’s systems. It’s been three years since launch, and they’re clearly hoping to make a big comeback with these changes.
They’re removing the gacha system, and other features, on a new server called the “Warp Server.”
This server is designed to eliminate the random character and weapon pulls. Instead of relying on luck, you’ll earn them through gameplay, much like in a classic online game.
A Gacha-Free System and a Major Overhaul of Tower of Fantasy’s Systems
Hotta Studio revealed upcoming updates through Tower of Fantasy’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
So, the developers made some changes to really nail the gameplay for our MMO. They’re focusing on the Warp Server, and it’s getting a complete overhaul with a totally new system and how we’ll progress through the game. Basically, they want to make sure everything is awesome for the people who approve the game!
So what are the changes exactly?
The Warp Server will remove the game’s original gacha system, which was present when it launched in 2022.
You won’t have to randomly try to get characters and weapons anymore. Now, players can earn them simply by playing each day. This removes the frustration of relying on luck, and instead lets you steadily earn the items you want through consistent gameplay.

The game now features equipment tiers with varying levels of rarity, similar to what you’d find in many traditional MMOs. Plus, with stamina removed, you can play and level up as much as you like without any restrictions.
Players can also participate in cooperative events against computer-controlled enemies, and connect with others at a Crew Base to chat and trade items.
You can find a lot more of this stuff in their Q&A video below:
The developers promise this will be a significant step forward for the game, but they haven’t shared many specifics yet.
But since it’s slated to release on November 25th, we don’t have to wait for long to find out.
