Stoic’s game, Towerborne, will officially launch on February 26th after being available in early access on PC, in preview on Xbox Series X/S, and now on PS5. It will be available on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation 5, as well as through Game Pass, and will cost $24.99. A Deluxe Edition will be available for $29.99.
Okay, so the big news is they’re ditching the free-to-play model for this beat ’em up! That’s awesome for me because it means a one-time purchase and I can actually play it offline whenever I want, which is a huge relief. They’re still keeping online co-op, thankfully. Plus, they’re adding the final part of the story, a new boss, and they’ve reworked the Bounty Board with a bunch of new side quests to keep me busy. Sounds like a great update!
In addition to the main villain, the game now features two new bosses, lieutenants, and Umbra enemies. The difficulty has been adjusted for a better experience, but a challenging “Brutal mode” is still available for players who want it. We’ve also completely redesigned the map, added a beautiful coastal area to explore, introduced new challenges and equipment, and created a new Forge system – plus lots more!
