The first reactions to Toy Story 5 have arrived.
Okay, so Pixar’s back with another Toy Story adventure, and it’s a surprisingly thoughtful one. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack are all fantastic as Woody, Buzz, and Jessie, and they’re facing a really interesting new problem: technology. This time around, it’s a tablet named Lilypad that’s capturing Bonnie’s attention, and it really makes you think about how kids play today. It’s the first Toy Story movie to get a PG rating, and Andrew Stanton and McKenna Harris did a great job directing and writing a story that feels both familiar and fresh.
After the premiere of Toy Story 5 in Los Angeles, early reviews are starting to appear. Germain Lussier from Gizmodo said the movie is a little slow to start as it sets up several storylines, but it ultimately delivers a fantastic ending packed with the heart and humor fans expect from Pixar. He called it “top tier” and said he laughed, cried, and loved it.
