Tracee Ellis Ross Robbed of More Than $100,000 After L.A. Break-In

Tracee Ellis Ross was the target of a scary situation.

On the chilly morning of August 31st, I woke up to discover that my beloved abode in sunny Los Angeles had been uninvitedly intruded upon – a fact confirmed by the local authorities who shared this upsetting news with NBC Los Angeles.

Around midnight, as per authorities, when I arrived at Ross’ residence, it was discovered that there had been a break-in. Police later confirmed that three burglars forced their way in by shattering a rear glass door. Once inside, they made off with over $100,000 worth of handbags and jewelry. Fortunately, the Black-ish actor, who is 52 years old, was not at home during the incident.

In response to queries, NBC Los Angeles was informed by law enforcement that they retrieved footage from a home’s security camera. However, the probe is still active, and no arrests have been officially announced yet.

I’ve attempted to contact Ross’ representatives and the Los Angeles Police Department for additional insights, however, I’m still awaiting their response.

The latest burglary of a celebrity home in California this summer happened to be at Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch’s residence in Playa del Rey. According to NBC Los Angeles, the break-in occurred in July, with police reporting a smashed sliding window and an estimated $10,000 in cash missing, despite no one being home during the incident.

In June, three individuals gained unauthorized access to Brad Pitt’s house in Los Feliz – a district situated on the hills of Los Angeles – by breaking through a front window. This was confirmed by two sources from law enforcement agencies speaking to NBC News. Interestingly, Pitt, who starred in Fight Club, was not present at home during the burglary.

In June 2025, as reported by NBC News, the residence of an actor starring in “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood” in Los Angeles was burglarized. Three individuals are said to have scaled a fence and entered through the front window. Remarkably, the actor was not present at the time.

On Valentine’s Day 2025, as reported by NBC News, several individuals broke into the couple’s house by shattering the windows and proceeded to search the premises before leaving. Remarkably, the actress, singer, and their daughters named Sunday and Faith were not present at home during this incident.

In June 2025, the residence of the rapper famously known for “Thrift Shop” was burglarized. His family’s nanny claimed that two unknown individuals broke into the house through a patio door late at night and sprayed her with pepper spray. The intruders made off with clothing, jewelry, and footwear.

In Texas, the quarterback of the Cincinnati Bengals was reportedly away from his home when model Olivia Ponton claimed a break-in occurred, mentioning that upon arrival she discovered his bedroom disordered and a smashed window.

At a press conference in December 2024, the athlete expressed concerns about their privacy, stating, ‘It seems my privacy has been infringed upon on multiple occasions.’ They added, ‘More information about me is publicly available than I am comfortable with, and there’s nothing more I wish to discuss on this matter.’

In October 2024, Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany found their Missouri estate had been burgled late at night. Similarly, Travis Kelce’s home suffered damage to the back door a day later, with police reporting $20,000 in cash missing during that incident.

Whilst vacationing in the Bahamas with her children, Camden, Jaxon, and Saylor (who are Jay Cutler’s kids), the former Hills star encountered a burglary at her rented home last year. Speaking about the incident, she recalled, “I had Camden sleeping in my bed. I was dozing off alongside him when suddenly I woke up to find a man crawling on my bedroom floor.

She exclaimed, “What on earth are you up to?” Suddenly, this man rose from his seat and hurriedly left the room. He was wearing a ski mask, entirely black clothes – a complete outfit, if you will. At that moment, she exclaimed, “Oh my goodness!

Later on, Cavallari discovered that the suspect was actually an HVAC repairman who had visited the house earlier that day for service.

In October 2024, there was a narrow escape for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge when it’s claimed that an intruder illegally entered the estate of Windsor Castle, which houses their main residence, Adelaide Cottage.

The Thames Valley Police informed NBC News that although the burglar did not get into Adelaide Cottage, they did break into a farm structure located within the palace grounds. Subsequently, they stole a black Isuzu truck and a red quad bike.

In March 2019, Roger Alvarado found himself behind bars following accusations that he scaled the second-story balcony of a well-known singer’s apartment in NYC. Using a brick to shatter a window, he attempted to gain entry into the residence. His punishment included six months in jail for the charges of Attempted Burglary in the Second Degree and Criminal Contempt in the First Degree.

2017 saw TopMob News reporting confirmation by the Beverly Hills Police that the residence of a former Saturday Night Live cast member had been burglarized. As per TMZ, the thieves made off with approximately $80,000 worth of items from Spade’s home, including money, jewelry, and a wedding band that once belonged to his mother.

2022 saw TopMob News report that during their residence, the Beckhams experienced a burglary at their London home, with their daughter Harper present. The Metropolitan Police verified this incident, mentioning that several items were taken from the property.

The Hills alum fell victim to the Bling Ring robberies in 2009.

After arriving home from Australia, she headed to a party without first unpacking her belongings. Upon returning, she found herself puzzled and exclaimed on Rachel Bilson’s podcast in February 2024, “I was like, ‘Am I going crazy? My luggage is missing, my laptop too. Everything that was on my bed is gone. What on earth is happening?'” She then went to her closet, phoned her sister, and said, “If I open my jewelry box and find items are missing, someone must have broken into my house or stolen things.” Upon opening it, she discovered everything was indeed gone.

In the year 2009, the entire group responsible for The Bling Ring – comprising Alexis Haines, Rachel Lee, Nick Prugo, Courtney Ames, Diana Tamayo, Johnny Ajar, and Roy Lopez – were all taken into custody.

Several individuals involved were subsequently incarcerated or placed on probation with community service requirements. Among them, Lee, thought to be the mastermind, served a year and a half out of her four-year prison sentence. Prugo and Haines each spent a year behind bars, while Haines’ term was relatively shorter at 30 days. Ames received a three-year probation period along with two months of community service, similar to Tamayo’s sentence. Lopez Jr.’s sentence included three years of supervised probation, and Ajar was originally sentenced to three years in prison but only ended up serving one year.

In this distressing and alarming circumstance, it was stated by Duff’s representative to TopMob News, that Hilary is grateful because her family, staff, residence, and pets have managed to remain unharmed.

In 2012, while the actress was filming “Carrie” in Toronto, her New York City apartment was broken into and approximately $127,000 worth of jewelry, amounting to ten pieces, were taken. This was confirmed by NYPD Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne to TopMob News.

In 2016, when burglars broke into her home in northern London, the singer responded by defending herself. A recording of her call to the police captures her saying, “Stay off these stairs!” She continued, warning them that she would cause them harm if they approached, stating, “I’ll give you a piece of my mind, you can hear me clearly!” Unfortunately, despite her attempts, the intruders managed to steal approximately $295,000 worth of jewelry, clothes, iPhones, and Mac computers.

In 2017, when “Super Bass” rapper was away from home, her residence in Beverly Hills was burglarized, with approximately $175,000 worth of jewelry and belongings being taken.

In 2017, the “Obsessed” artist experienced a burglary at her Los Angeles residence, with approximately $50,000 worth of handbags and sunglasses being stolen. As reported by the LAPD, the perpetrator broke in through a window.

Back in 2017, an estimated $200,000 worth of belongings were reportedly taken from a model’s residence in the Hollywood Hills, as per TMZ.
