In Season 3 of Tracker, Colter Shaw takes on a particularly challenging case in Episode 8. Justin Hartley’s character faces high stakes when he agrees to find a missing six-year-old girl, but the investigation is complicated by the possibility that the girl’s mother is involved, leading Colter into unfamiliar territory in a small town in North Carolina.
In the play “Eurydice,” Sierra Allen (played by Jessica Sipos) enlists Colter’s help to locate her daughter, Aubrey (Hailey Lambert), who has been missing for a year. A glimmer of hope appears when a familiar item surfaces at Sierra’s home – the dress Aubrey wore the night she disappeared. However, this discovery unexpectedly points suspicion towards Sierra herself.
Colter Shaw Clears Someone of Murder In Tracker Season 3, Episode 8
When Sierra received new evidence at her home that pointed to her involvement, she reached out to a contact provided by her friend Liz, rather than immediately contacting the police. Initially, the police investigated Sierra as a possible suspect in her daughter’s disappearance, believing she may have been involved and was attempting to conceal it.
Despite his reservations, Shaw agrees to help Sierra after she reveals her heartbreaking story – she’s a grieving mother who lost her daughter and desperately needs his assistance. This decision complicates things, as another suspect, Allen, is connected to the disappearance of Aubrey. Shaw explains to Sierra that he’ll have to gather the evidence, which will ultimately lead to her arrest for her daughter’s murder, and he sees no other way to proceed.
As soon as Sierra gave her approval, the police arrested the mother, exactly as Colter had foreseen. By helping Sierra, Colter had taken a significant risk. He now had to locate Aubrey and ensure her safety, and he was also tasked with clearing Sierra’s name in a murder case.
Colter takes on a challenging new role in the “Eurydice” case. Finding the missing person feels especially crucial, not only because she’s one of his youngest victims, but because the stakes are incredibly high. If Shaw fails to locate Aubrey, she’ll remain missing, and Sierra will face a life sentence.
Tracker Season 3, Episode 8, “Eurydice” Confirms a New Trend
Okay, so this week’s Tracker felt a little different – it was the first time Colter was actively trying to prove someone’s innocence in a murder case, which gave it a real crime drama vibe. The pressure was on because finding Aubrey was the only way to clear Sierra, especially since her mom had made some seriously questionable choices. Honestly, it was a super high-stakes episode and raised the bar for the show, making it one of the best yet!
Episode 8 isn’t the first time this season that Tracker has challenged Colter. Like the season’s premiere – a two-part episode where Colter and Russell Shaw investigated a dangerous AI program called The Process – and the episode “Eurydice,” this installment also gives Shaw a lot to lose, continuing a pattern throughout Season 3.
A key difference in Tracker Season 3 compared to earlier seasons is the development of Reenie Green’s (Fiona Rene) new criminal law firm, where she now works. While Shaw previously relied on two Florida-based handlers who were a married couple, this season he’s collaborating with a well-organized team.
In Season 3 of Tracker, Colter’s team – including Randy (Chris Lee) and Mel (Cassady McClincy) – works together in person, which gives the show a familiar feel. It’s similar to many crime dramas where some characters are investigating in the field while others work from a central location, and this season of Tracker leans into that classic structure.
What’s Next For Tracker Season 3
The ninth episode of Tracker Season 3 will maintain the show’s intense atmosphere and feature a familiar face: Keaton (Brett Sexton). He’s a former law enforcement officer Colter previously worked with in Season 2 to crack the decade-old Gina Picket case, and his return promises more compelling drama.
Next week’s episode of Tracker will see Colter and Keaton investigating a series of deaths that point to a larger, hidden plot. Season 3 is set to deliver more intense and challenging cases, pushing Colter Shaw – and viewers – into unfamiliar territory and significantly broadening the scope of the series.
