This season has shown that some of the surprises on The Traitors don’t quite deliver on their promise, even though the show’s creators try to increase the excitement. However, it’s a different issue entirely when a player is brought onto the show with a clear advantage in identifying—or even just getting a feeling about—who the Traitors are. That’s exactly what happened in the first season of The Traitors Australia.

The show didn’t need a hidden villain; instead, the Australian production brought in Chloe Campbell, who claims to be a psychic or medium. Campbell uses abilities like reading auras and communicating with what she calls her ‘spiritual team’ to get insights. Naturally, she didn’t share her initial suspicions with anyone.

Being honest about what I can do is a gamble. I could easily exaggerate my abilities, but I wanted to demonstrate that even with my current skillset, amazing things are possible, and you can gain unique insights others might miss.

Most people simply saw Campbell as odd, but some started to object to him presenting his personal beliefs as established truths, especially when those beliefs were just guesses or potentially incorrect. However, the audience was about to be very surprised by what they were about to hear.

When Cambell mistakenly helped vote out a loyal player, Jack Rodgers, instead of exposing a Traitor, her game started to falter. She became withdrawn and avoided naming potential Traitors, but then dramatically revealed she was certain of the Traitors’ identities during the second banishment, sharing more information than anyone anticipated.

As votes were tallied for another Faithful player, Campbell grew increasingly worried and revealed who she believed were the Traitors: Kashindi Maree, Marielle Intveld, Angus McNicol, and Theresa Newton. She correctly identified two of the four Traitors before requesting to leave the game, effectively ending her participation.

Although Campbell didn’t fully succeed in her goals, the surprise reveal and the reactions of those accused dramatically changed the season. This created a shocking moment that cemented this as one of the most memorable seasons of The Traitors, without a doubt.
