Travis Kelce Addresses “S–tty Feeling” of Chiefs’ Loss to Texans

Travis Kelce is coming in with his football helmet and saying ‘OK let’s talk.’”

Okay, so Travis didn’t talk to anyone after that awful game against the Texans on December 7th – can you believe it?! But he finally opened up about how he felt, and honestly, it’s like he knows that game might have ruined our chances of even making the playoffs. I’ve been following him forever, and it’s just heartbreaking to see him talk about it, but I’m so glad he finally did!

Travis Kelce told his brother Jason on their podcast, New Heights, that the past couple of days had been really challenging. He explained that he’s focusing on improving his performance through hard work at practice, mastering the game plan, and refining his basic skills, hoping that will lead to success like it has in previous years and benefit his teammates.

Although the Chiefs have played in the Super Bowl for the last three years, this year has been particularly challenging for the team.

Travis admitted it’s difficult to accept their current situation, particularly considering their past successes in making the playoffs. He described the feeling as incredibly frustrating and disappointing.

Honestly, as a huge fan, it really bothered me to see him drop that pass. It felt like that one mistake just sealed the deal, letting the Houstons intercept and ultimately win 20-10. It was a tough moment, and you could tell it really got to him too.

Travis added, “Especially losing possession at the very end of the game like that. When it was our last real opportunity to change things, it’s incredibly frustrating.”

Jason responded to Travis’s frustration about nearly catching a long pass from Patrick Mahomes, defending the play.

“That was a really difficult play,” he explained. “You were sprinting to get there and still trying to look back. I know you always aim to do your best, but even so, that would have been a challenging catch.”

Travis Kelce definitely stood out, but he wasn’t alone – his fiancée, Taylor Swift, was there with him. This was perhaps her most visible appearance at an Arrowhead Stadium game this season, and she was joined by close friends Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Selena has already expressed her support for Taylor Swift’s boyfriend and the Kansas City Chiefs, and the creator of the show Girls added to that enthusiasm after visiting Missouri.

In an Instagram post on December 8th, Lena explained her unusual sports allegiance, jokingly defending her support for Kansas City despite being a New Yorker living in London. She ended the post with a message of affection for someone named @killatrav.
