Travis Kelce Slams His Helmet Down During Tense Eagles Game

It’s all good if Travis Kelce is bad, and it’s okay if he’s mad.

The Kansas City Chiefs were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles on September 14th, with tight end Travis Kelce’s fiancée, Taylor Swift, watching from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium. Travis was visibly upset with the loss.

Okay, so you will NOT believe what happened! It was the second quarter, and Travis just… lost it. He ripped off his helmet and just *slammed* it onto the field! The cameras caught everything, of course, and you could totally see him yelling. It looked like he screamed, “I’m sick of this st!” I mean, I’ve never seen him that angry, but honestly? A little part of me *gets* it. He’s just so passionate, you know?

Despite Patrick Mahomes scoring a touchdown and bringing the Chiefs within three points of the Eagles in a 20-17 loss, Travis Kelce remains unhappy with his own performance this season.

The 35-year-old player recently apologized to teammate Xavier Worthy for accidentally colliding with him during the game against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 5th. The collision caused Worthy to injure his shoulder.

Travis said he really owes someone a huge thank you, and that person, X, understands how much. During the September 10th episode of *New Heights*, Travis admitted he felt terrible and could hardly play for the rest of the first half.

Adam Sandler said he was glad to hear the 22-year-old was doing alright, explaining, “I felt much better when I realized he was in good spirits.”

Although the collision was unintentional and neither player was at fault, Travis accepted full responsibility for the mistake.

He said he needs to improve his performance. After being in the league for thirteen years, he knows there’s no excuse for making careless mistakes like running into his teammates, and he wants to be able to play with speed and contribute to the team’s success.

But while Travis’ 13th season is off to a rocky start, he’s never down for too long.

Travis told *GQ* in an August 12th interview that he loves feeling like the happiest person alive. He explained his excitement about being in the NFL, saying, ‘I’m living the dream! I finally have the ball and millions of people are watching – it’s incredibly exciting!’

Naturally, his fiancée concurs.

Taylor described him as someone who just brings positive energy to everyone around him. She compared it to using the ‘enhance color’ feature on your phone – he just makes everything brighter and better.

She explained to Travis, “That’s what you do to everyone’s life.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce first connected in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Okay, so as a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve been following the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce story, and it’s adorable! Apparently, Travis, being a huge fan of Taylor’s, wanted to surprise her at the concert with a personalized friendship bracelet – a sweet gesture, right? He was hoping to hand it to her, but her pre-show routine was in full swing, and timing just didn’t work out. It’s a funny little moment that shows how focused she is on her performance, and honestly, it’s just really cute!

Travis explained on his podcast, *New Heights*, that he was a bit upset Taylor Swift didn’t speak before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs, but he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

Following his widely discussed on-field mistake – which he playfully called “metal as hell” – Travis decided to take a chance and invited the famous singer to attend a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium.

He explained on *The Pat McAfee Show* that he playfully challenged Taylor Swift. He basically said he’s seen her perform amazingly at Arrowhead Stadium, and now she should come see him perform there to see whose show is more exciting. He hinted that something might happen soon.

I remember when I first saw Taylor, Travis had just started growing a mustache! He’d actually been sporting it since August, right at the beginning of training camp. It was a really cool look on him, and definitely made an impression when they met.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was sporting them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Travis and Taylor began communicating via text and phone calls around the beginning of September, as reported by TopMob News.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor accepted Travis’ invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to watch him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, accompanied by his mother, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite rumors that they met for the first time in person, the singer of “Karma” explained that they had actually already spent a good deal of time getting to know each other.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor brought a group of her friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from football games. This could be another indication that Taylor and Travis are a couple.

The couple publicly showcased their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued the celebration with the show’s after-party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During the team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform on her Eras Tour. While there on November 11th in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and even received a mention from Taylor during the show.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage and shared a loving kiss with Travis Kelce.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told *Time* magazine that she’s excited to support him doing what he’s passionate about, and they’re both there for each other, not worrying about who else is around. It’s the complete opposite of having to hide their relationship and go to great lengths to keep it secret.

The famous singer made Travis’ game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Taylor and Travis celebrated New Year’s Eve together and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family, spending time with his brother Jason Kelce and sister-in-law Kylie Kelce while watching the Chiefs play the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and secured their place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field. They celebrated with a kiss and then told each other ‘I love you’ for the first time.

“Tay, I’m gonna enjoy with the guys,” he told her. “I love you—so much it’s not funny.”

After Travis helped the Kansas City Chiefs win on February 11, 2024, in Las Vegas, he and his partner shared a kiss on the field.

On February 12th, Taylor shared a video of Travis online, jokingly showing how she brought her parents to a club with him after the Super Bowl.

Taylor Swift’s first Instagram post with Travis Kelce showed the two of them posing with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The photo was taken backstage at Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium in London.

During Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, the NFL player surprised fans by joining his girlfriend onstage at Wembley Stadium in London. He appeared as a backup performer while she sang “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” This was his seventh concert on the tour and the second show at that venue.

Taylor Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ first game of the 2024-25 season and seemed to recreate a sweet moment with Travis Kelce that fans first saw back in October 2023. The photo was shared by Chariah Gordon, who is pictured with her boyfriend, Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe where I saw them! It was at Karen Elson’s wedding – she’s a *goddess*, obviously – and she was marrying Lee Foster, the owner of Electric Lady Studios! Seriously, being there was unreal. I was completely starstruck!

The next day, the pair attended the men’s singles final match at the U.S. Open.

The two stepped out for a double dinner date with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in NYC.

The couple went on two dates in New York City over the weekend before the new year, and they coordinated their outfits for both of them.

The couple spent the NFL off-season together, taking a snowy trip to Montana with sports broadcaster Erin Andrews.

Okay, so like, when Travis *finally* posted pictures of him and Taylor on Instagram in July 2025, I almost died! There was this *amazing* dinner photo, and if you looked closely-and trust me, I zoomed in-you could see their phone lockscreens! They had pictures of *each other* on their phones! It was the cutest, most confirmation-filled moment ever, and I literally screamed. I knew they were meant to be!

Taylor Swift, a devoted fan of the *New Heights* podcast, appeared on an almost two-hour-long special episode with Travis and Jason Kelce on August 13th. During the episode, she openly shared details about her life and relationship, and also announced the title of her upcoming twelfth studio album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, which will be released on October 3rd.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast – a moment that quickly spread online – the couple announced their engagement. They playfully referenced Taylor’s song “So High School” in an August 26th Instagram post sharing their engagement photos, writing, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
