Travis Kelce Supports Taylor Swift’s Life of a Showgirl Release

Travis Kelce is a lover of Taylor Swift‘s new album.

The Kansas City Chiefs player, who proposed to the Grammy-winning singer in August after dating for nearly two years, expressed how thrilled he is for her new album, *The Life of a Showgirl*.

You know, I always say birthdays are best spent with family, and Travis Kelce definitely proved that! He turned 36 by going to the movie premiere of his record in Jacksonville with his mom, Donna Kelce, and the whole family. It was so sweet – a photo from October 5th popped up on social media and it just radiated family love.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve been following the buzz around Travis Kelce and his fiancée, and it’s so sweet to see him support her work! On a recent episode of his podcast, *New Heights* with Jason Kelce, he shared how much he’s been enjoying Taylor’s new album – even before it was released to the public. He said he was literally dancing around his house while listening to it, and honestly, who wouldn’t be when listening to great music and being in love?

He said he couldn’t stop listening to the album. Even though she’d said it would have more upbeat, pop-influenced music, he found her songwriting and lyrics remained beautifully poetic.

He continued, “It’s just so much fun to listen to, man.”

As for his favorite track? He noted, “‘Opalite’ might be my favorite.”

Travis shared on the November 2024 episode of *New Heights* that he’ll always love Taylor Swift’s ‘Blank Space,’ calling it ‘unbelievable’ in every way.

And he didn’t just stick to the radio hits, adding some deep cuts in his list, too.

He mentioned that ‘Cowboy Like Me’ is a strong song, and added that he’s really grown to love ‘Death by a Thousand Cuts’ as well.

He also wanted to feature a few of his favorite songs from *The Tortured Poets Department*, and it appears some of them are about the football player.

He enthusiastically recommended ‘The Alchemy,’ saying it was a guaranteed hit. He also spoke fondly of ‘So High School,’ describing the strong emotions it evoked.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship started in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Being a big fan of Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it at the concert. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to reach her because she was busy preparing for the show.

Travis explained on his podcast, *New Heights*, that he was a little upset Taylor Swift didn’t talk before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to conserve her voice for the 44 songs she performs, but he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

After jokingly talking about dropping the ball – something he’d later call incredibly cool – Travis decided to take a chance and invited the famous singer to come see the Chiefs play at their home stadium.

He explained on *The Pat McAfee Show* that he challenged Taylor Swift, saying he’d noticed her amazing performances at Arrowhead Stadium and suggested she come see him perform there too, to see who gets a bigger reaction from the crowd. He said we’ll have to wait and see if she takes him up on it.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August during football training camp, and that’s how Taylor first met him.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was sporting them when he first met Taylor.

Okay, so I’ve been *totally* following everything, and a friend of a friend who’s connected told me that by early September, Travis and Taylor were already, like, texting and chatting occasionally! I nearly screamed when I heard! It was the first little hint that something was happening, and honestly, it was EVERYTHING.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor accepted Travis Kelce’s invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to see him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, accompanied by Travis’s mother, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite stories claiming it was their first time meeting face-to-face, the singer of “Karma” explained that they had actually already spent a good deal of time getting to know each other.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor brought a group of her friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another hint that Taylor and Travis are a couple.

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! They were on *Saturday Night Live* last night! It was a total shock, but the cutest thing ever! And it didn’t stop there – they went to the after-party, and then, get this, they had a *date night* at the Waverly Inn! Seriously, they completely took over New York City, and I’m living for it! I need all the details, always!

During his team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform on her Eras Tour. While there on November 11th in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and Taylor even gave him a special mention during the show.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage to greet Travis Kelce with a loving kiss.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told *Time* magazine that she’s excited to support him doing what he’s passionate about, and they’re both there for each other, not worrying about who else is around. She contrasted this with the lengths people sometimes go to in order to keep a relationship secret.

 

The famous singer made Travis’s game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Taylor and Travis rang in the New Year together, and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family, spending time with his brother Jason Kelce and sister-in-law Kylie at the Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and earned a place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field. They celebrated their win with a kiss and then told each other ‘I love you’.

“Tay, I’m gonna enjoy with the guys,” he told her. “I love you—so much it’s not funny.”

 
 

After Travis helped the Kansas City Chiefs win on February 11, 2024, in Las Vegas, he and his partner shared a kiss on the field.

On February 12th, Taylor shared a video of Travis on social media, jokingly showing how she brought her parents to a club with him after the Super Bowl.

The next day, the pair attended the men’s singles final match at the U.S. Open.

The two stepped out for a double dinner date with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in NYC.

The couple went on two dates in New York City over the final weekend of 2024, and they coordinated their outfits for both outings.

The couple spent the NFL off-season together, taking a snowy trip to Montana with sports reporter Erin Andrews.

In July 2025, Travis shared the first photos of him and Taylor on Instagram. One cute picture showed them at dinner, and fans noticed something sweet: their phone lock screens were pictures of each other!

Taylor Swift, a self-proclaimed big fan of the *New Heights* podcast, appeared on an almost two-hour-long special episode with Travis and Jason Kelce on August 13th. During the conversation, she openly shared details about her life with Travis, both publicly and privately, and announced the title of her upcoming twelfth studio album, *The Life of a Showgirl*, which will be released on October 3rd.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast – a moment that quickly spread online – the couple announced their engagement. They playfully referenced Taylor’s song “So High School” in an August 26th Instagram post sharing their engagement photos, captioning it, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
