Travis Kelce Would Rather Get Brazilian Wax Than Watch Catching Kelce

Travis Kelce is afraid to look back at little old Travis.

Almost ten years after Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce searched for love on the reality show Catching Kelce, he admitted he’d prefer to avoid repeating that experience.

On the December 31st episode of their podcast, New Heights, Jason Kelce jokingly asked his brother if he’d rather be forced to watch Catching Kelce on repeat forever, or get a Brazilian wax.

Travis, who has been planning his wedding with Taylor Swift since they got engaged in August, was very direct with his response.

He exclaimed he’d prefer a Brazilian wax, saying, “Seriously?” and even volunteered he’d get it done everywhere. He then bluntly stated, “I’d honestly rather just have my pubic hair waxed.”

The 36-year-old has said he didn’t enjoy his first experience with reality TV, recalling his feelings about the seven-episode series that originally aired on TopMobin in 2016.

In a July interview on the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, he admitted that appearing on Catching Kelce was the biggest mistake he ever made, saying it was a truly awful experience.

He confessed he hadn’t understood the nature of reality television before. He doubted many people actually watched it, describing it as simply featuring fifty women, each from a different state.

He remembered enjoying his time on the show—a dating competition similar to The Bachelor where women vied for his affection—but then he realized it would be available for anyone to see. He and the show’s winner, Maya Benberry, were together until early 2017.

Let me tell you, in those moments, it really hit me – this was something that would live on, permanently. Honestly, my first reaction was just pure frustration. It was one of those ‘Oh no!’ moments you instantly regret.

He realized halfway through filming that the dating show wasn’t the best move for his gameplan.

“I was like, ‘I’m in over my head right now,'” he recalled. “I said no to it about five times.”

While he doesn’t have great memories of being on Catching Kelce, he did appreciate the playful banter with his NFL teammates the next season.

He admitted he took a lot of good-natured ribbing throughout the season, but he enjoyed it. He described it as typical locker room talk – all in good fun.

Travis may not have initially connected with Taylor on the Catching Kelce show, but they did meet in person on stage. Continue reading to learn more about their relationship.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce first connected in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Being a big fan of Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give her a personalized friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to deliver it because she was busy getting ready for the show.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a little upset because Taylor doesn’t talk before or after her concerts to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs. He had made bracelets for her and wished he’d been able to give her one.

Following his widely discussed on-field mistake—which Taylor later playfully called “amazing”—Travis took a chance and invited the famous singer to attend a Kansas City Chiefs game at Arrowhead Stadium.

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, saying he’d noticed her energetic performances at Arrowhead Stadium and suggested she come see him perform there too, to see who gets a bigger reaction from the crowd. He said they’ll see if anything comes of it soon.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August during football training camp, when he met Taylor for the first time.

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was wearing them when he first met Taylor.

Okay, so I’ve been following everything so closely, and a reliable insider told TopMob News that things started heating up with Travis and Taylor way back in early September! Apparently, they were just casually texting and chatting on the phone – ‘here and there,’ they said – but honestly, even that was enough to send me into overdrive! It was the beginning, guys, the beginning!

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor accepted Travis Kelce’s invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to see him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, where she sat with his mother, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

You know, there was a lot of talk about Taylor and Travis meeting for the very first time when she showed up at his game. But actually, they’d already spent quite a bit of time getting to know each other before that! It wasn’t a completely cold introduction, which I think a lot of people assumed. They’d clearly been building a connection for a while.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor brought a group of her close friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from football games. This could be another indication that Taylor and Travis are a couple.

The couple publicly showcased their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued the celebration with an after-party for the show and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During the NFL’s bye week, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform on the South American leg of her Eras Tour. At the November 11th concert in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and Taylor even gave him a special mention from the stage.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage and shared a loving kiss with Travis Kelce.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

It means the world to me to be able to watch him do what he’s passionate about, and we’re there to support each other, completely unconcerned with who else is around. It’s the opposite of having to hide your relationship, going to great lengths to keep it a secret from everyone.

The famous singer made Travis’s game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Taylor and Travis rang in the New Year together, and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family and spent time with his brother, Jason Kelce, and sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, at the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and earned a place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field to celebrate. They shared a kiss and then told each other ‘I love you’ for the first time.

“Tay, I’m gonna enjoy with the guys,” he told her. “I love you—so much it’s not funny.”

After Travis helped the Kansas City Chiefs win on February 11, 2024, in Las Vegas, he and his partner shared a kiss on the field.

On February 12th, Taylor shared a video of Travis online, jokingly showing how she brought her parents to a club with him after the Super Bowl.

Taylor Swift’s first Instagram post with Travis Kelce showed the two of them posing with Prince William, Kate Middleton, and their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The photo was taken backstage at Swift’s Eras Tour concert at Wembley Stadium in London.

During Taylor Swift’s Eras tour, the NFL star surprised fans by joining his girlfriend onstage at Wembley Stadium in London. He appeared as a backup performer during her rendition of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” This was his seventh concert on the tour and the second show at that venue.

Taylor Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ first game of the 2024-25 season and seemed to recreate a sweet moment with Travis Kelce from October 2023, as captured in a photo shared by Chariah Gordon. Gordon is pictured alongside her boyfriend, Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman.

I was so thrilled to be at the wedding of the amazing Karen Elson and Lee Foster! It was in New York City, and seeing them celebrate their love at Electric Lady Studios was just magical.

The next day, the pair attended the men’s singles final match at the U.S. Open.

The two stepped out for a double dinner date with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds in NYC.

The couple went on two dates in New York City over the weekend before 2025, and they coordinated their outfits for both of them.

The couple spent the NFL off-season together, taking a snowy trip to Montana with sportscaster Erin Andrews.

In July 2025, Travis shared the first photos of him and Taylor together on Instagram. One cute picture, taken during dinner, also happened to show that they both had each other as their phone lockscreen backgrounds.

Taylor Swift, a self-proclaimed big fan of the New Heights podcast, appeared on an extended, almost two-hour-long episode with Travis and Jason Kelce on August 13th. During the conversation, she openly shared details about her life with Travis, both publicly and privately, and announced the title of her upcoming twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which will be released on October 3rd.

I’m still buzzing about it! It feels like forever ago that Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast, and now they’re engaged! They announced it on Instagram with the cutest caption – a playful nod to her song ‘So High School,’ saying ‘Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.’ It’s just so them and I’m incredibly happy for them both!
