After Taylor Frankie Paul’s season of The Bachelorette was cancelled unexpectedly on March 19th, the fitness influencer – who previously dated Travis Kelce – has put herself forward as a potential candidate.

Kayla posted a TikTok on March 25th expressing her interest in becoming the next Bachelorette, jokingly asking ABC if they needed a replacement contestant.

Kayla’s fans seemed to take her hint seriously, with many commenting that they hoped she’d appear on the show. However, it appeared to be a playful suggestion, as she used audio from a funny video by comedian Jason Banks.

In a video appearing to be a dating profile, Kayla lipsynched to a recording claiming, “I play professional football for the Dallas Cowboys. I’m a military veteran from Minnesota, and also Spider-Man. I was in the Miss America pageant—I came in second place.”

Kayla has often been open about her experiences with dating while in the public spotlight. Just three months after her former partner, Travis, got engaged to Taylor Swift, the social media personality shared a new personal guideline she’s following when it comes to romance.

Kayla admitted on the November 2025 episode of The Boyfriend Material podcast that while she’s not interested in dating athletes, she’d be open to dating the people who own the teams.

Nevertheless, Kayla admitted, “I’m really open, the bar is in hell these days.”

Kayla hasn’t been publicly linked to anyone romantically since her breakup with Travis in 2022. Although their relationship didn’t last, she publicly supported him when people claimed the split was due to him being unwilling to spend money.

During a 2024 interview on the Unapologetically Angel podcast, Kayla questioned, “Does this look like something I would do? Would I really split bills down the middle?”

She emphasized, “That was never an issue in our relationship.”

For his part, Travis also shook off the rumors. 

Let me tell you, I’ve seen a lot of relationships, and one thing I always say is to ignore the noise. I was chatting on The Pivot Podcast recently, and we were talking about finances in relationships. Someone suggested small amounts of money exchanged were a big deal, and I completely disagree. My ex and I were together for five years, and honestly, the idea of tracking every hundred dollars here and there? It just never crossed our minds. It’s about the bigger picture, not nickel-and-diming each other.

While Kayla continues to search for her ideal partner, Travis has quickly and completely fallen in love with Taylor.

Oh my god, did you see Travis’s interview with GQ? He said, and I quote, that he and Taylor are just two people who genuinely love having fun and respect everyone for who they are! He said they really connect on those values, and then… then everything just exploded! It was instant, apparently. I KNEW it! They’re just perfect for each other, honestly. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship started in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour came to Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Okay, so as a lifestyle enthusiast, I’ve been following the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce story, and it’s adorable. Apparently, Travis, being a huge fan of Taylor’s, really wanted to give her a custom friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it at her concert. He tried to get it to her, but her pre-show routine was just so packed, timing didn’t work out! It’s a sweet gesture though, and shows how much he’s into it.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a little upset Taylor Swift didn’t speak before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs, but he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

Following his widely discussed on-field mistake – which Taylor Swift later playfully called “amazing” – Travis Kelce decided to take a chance and invited the famous singer to come see the Chiefs play at Arrowhead Stadium.

He said on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, suggesting she come to one of his concerts at Arrowhead Stadium after seeing him perform there, to see whose show is more exciting. He’s hoping to find out if she’ll accept the challenge soon.

Travis had grown a mustache, first showing it off in August during football training camp, and that’s how Taylor first met him.

Looking back, that time with the mustache and number 87 jersey was definitely a memorable look for me! It’s funny, because that’s actually what I was sporting when I first met Taylor – a pretty iconic moment, if I do say so myself!

According to a source with knowledge of the matter, Travis and Taylor began communicating via text and phone calls around the beginning of September, as reported by TopMob News.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor Swift accepted Travis Kelce’s invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to see him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, along with Travis’s mom, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite rumors that they met for the first time in person, the singer of “Karma” later explained that they had actually known each other for quite a while before that.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor brought a group of her friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another hint that she and Travis are a couple!

The couple publicly showcased their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued their New York outing with the show’s after-party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During the NFL’s bye week, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform as part of her Eras Tour. At the November 11th show in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and even received a mention from Taylor while she was performing.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift reportedly rushed backstage to meet Travis Kelce, where she enthusiastically kissed him.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time that she’s excited to support him doing what he’s passionate about, and they’re both there for each other, ignoring anyone who might judge them. She contrasted this with the lengths people sometimes go to in order to keep a relationship secret.

 

The famous singer made Travis’s game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Taylor and Travis rang in the New Year together, and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family and spent time with his brother, Jason Kelce, and Jason’s wife, Kylie, at the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and earned a place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field. They celebrated their win with a kiss and then told each other ‘I love you’.

“Tay, I’m gonna enjoy with the guys,” he told her. “I love you—so much it’s not funny.”

They spent the NFL off-season together, taking a snowy trip to Montana with sports broadcaster Erin Andrews.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast, sparking a lot of buzz, the couple announced their engagement. They playfully referenced Taylor’s song “So High School” in an August 26th Instagram post, captioning their engagement photos with, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
