Daytime TV has said goodbye to one of their own.
Tristan Rogers, famously recognized as the actor portraying Robert Scorpio in the daytime TV show “General Hospital,” has passed away. His manager officially verified this to ABC 7. He was 79 years old.
Meryl Soodak revealed that Rogers passed away due to a fight against lung cancer, even though he wasn’t a smoker.
Despite the fact that Rogers never smoked, Meryl Soodak shared the sad news of his death resulting from lung cancer.

The family requests privacy and understanding as they navigate through the emotional and physical challenges that come with this diagnosis.
They noted that Rogers, known for his role on General Hospital from 1980 to 1992 and continuing to make recurring appearances through 2025, expressed gratitude towards his fans. He expressed that he wants them to understand just how much their loyalty and encouragement throughout the years means to him.
Even though he was well-known for appearing in many soap operas such as “The Young and the Restless” and “The Bold and the Beautiful”, Rogers understood that taking on the character of Robert Scorpio in “General Hospital” was unique and exceptional.

Rogers is survived by his wife of 20 years Teresa, as well as children Sara Jane, 32, and Cale, 29.
