The actor commented, “He’s one of those individuals who approaches things differently from others. Each person has their unique style and approach, right?” He continued, trying not to cause offense as a fellow performer, “I felt a strong connection with you, and I wanted to use your name casually. Your name is Ares, but can I just call you Air instead? Surprisingly, he agreed, saying, ‘Sure thing! You can call me whatever you like!’ We had a wonderful time together.
It’s not new that one of Leto’s acting companions has spoken about the actor’s unique approach to method acting. Previously, it was revealed that for the Suicide Squad movie in 2016, where Leto played the Joker, he sent unusual presents to his co-stars. An example is a live rat he gave to his on-screen lover, Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie.
During the Tron: Ares SDCC panel, Leto, who was there too, openly acknowledged his initial apprehension about acting alongside Bridges. This nervousness even caused him to interrupt their first scene together by saying “cut!” This was unexpected since he usually doesn’t do that. However, he couldn’t suppress his excitement, as he put it, “I just can’t stop smiling because I’m working with my guy.
Tron: Ares – A New Journey in the Digital World
In the movie “Tron: Ares,” this film serves as an independent continuation of the 2010 release, “Tron: Legacy.” So far, only Kevin Flynn, portrayed by Bridges, has been confirmed to reprise his role from the franchise. In the realm of science fiction, a complex digital entity named Ares (Leto) is dispatched from the digital world into our reality on a hazardous assignment. This marks the first meeting between humans and artificial intelligence beings.
Joachim Rønning, known for directing Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, is now at the helm of Tron: Ares, a film penned by Jesse Wigutow. In addition to Leto and Bridges, this upcoming production boasts an impressive cast that includes Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, Gillian Anderson, and Sarah Desjardins.
Tron: Ares is scheduled to hit theaters on October 10, 2025.
