Among delayed sequels, Tron is undeniably one of them. The initial movie was launched in 1982, featuring groundbreaking computer graphics that made it a modest but impactful hit. However, it took 28 years for a follow-up to arrive, with the release of ‘Tron Legacy in 2010. Fortunately, we’ve only had to wait 15 years for another installment in the series, and a sneak peek can be found in the Tron Ares trailer, which certainly appears unique and promising.
In a new movie titled “TRON: Ares,” we follow the journey of an advanced digital character named Ares, who is dispatched from the digital realm into our physical world for a perilous assignment. This encounter between humans and artificial intelligence entities is a first in this film. Directed by Joachim Rønning, it boasts an impressive cast that includes Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, with the additions of Gillian Anderson and Jeff Bridges.
Disney’s “TRON: Ares” releases in UK cinemas on 10th October 2025.
