Trump crypto issues: Lara, Tiffany’s accounts hacked to promote fake Solana tokens

  • Trump’s family’s social media accounts were hacked to promote fake crypto tokens.
  • Polymarket data showed that Trump remained a front-runner despite recent disruptions.

As a seasoned researcher with years of experience navigating the complex world of politics and technology, I find myself increasingly intrigued by this latest saga involving Donald Trump and his family’s digital footprint. The hacking of Lara and Tiffany Trump’s social media accounts to promote a bogus crypto token is not only a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities in our digital landscape but also a testament to the allure that the Trump name still holds for some.

One day following the attempted scam on Donald Trump’s World Liberty Financial platform, it appears that hackers have gained access to the social media profiles of Lara Trump, Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, and Tiffany Trump, his daughter

In the evening on September 3rd, these questionable accounts were employed to advertise a spurious token, misleadingly associated with World Liberty Financial – a forthcoming cryptocurrency initiative that’s recently gained attention from members of the Trump family

Chase, a journalist, took to X (formerly Twitter) to alert users, and stated,

“Avoid engaging with the Solana Meme Coin, as it was clearly stated by both Eric Trump and Donald Trump that they wouldn’t launch any meme coins.”

This emphasizes that any statements, especially those originating from hacked accounts, should be disregarded and avoided. Don’t engage with them

To reinforce trustworthiness, the journalist additionally provided a snapshot of the erased posts that were previously published from these hacked accounts

Just as anticipated, users were advised to steer clear of links posted by these hacked accounts until the problem was completely sorted out

Furthermore, the hacking event was highlighted in an alert that was posted on the formal Telegram forum associated with Trump’s latest decentralized finance (DeFi) endeavor, World Liberty Financial

Eric Trump weighs in

In a now-removed post, Eric Trump stated unequivocally that his wife Lara’s social media account had indeed been hacked

He highlighted that although the announcements made from her account appeared legitimate, they were actually created by scammers.

However, after X took immediate action for this scam, Eric Trump also took to X and informed that,

“Twitter swiftly secured the accounts of Lara Lea Trump and Tiffany A Trump, impressing everyone with its quick response.”

Mixed community reaction

During this time, it appears that many were critical of Trump and felt that anything associated with the Trumps was likely a fraudulent scheme

However, there were many who were in support of Trump as Nic Carter would put it,

“Could we, as members of Crypto Twitter, collaborate on some action to prevent the debut of World Liberty Coin? I believe it could potentially harm Donald Trump’s election chances, especially if it gets compromised (it could be the most tempting DeFi target yet, and it’s a fork from a protocol that was previously hacked).”

Carter further added,

“I’m not in favor of this choice, as you might have guessed I’m a supporter of Trump. However, even if this decision is poor, my support for him remains unchanged.”
