Tubi Just Added a Trio of the Best Action Films From the 1980s (But You’ll Have to Go Hunt For the Rest of the Franchise)

I just loved the movies of the 80s, especially the action films! It wasn’t just that they were thrilling and packed with excitement – so many of them launched entire franchises that kept us entertained for years. Films like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, and The Terminator weren’t just great movies, they became huge series. And now, it’s amazing to see another classic action series from that incredible decade available to stream for free – or at least, a part of it is!

Starting March 1st, the first three Rambo movies starring Sylvester Stallone – First Blood (1982), Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), and Rambo III (1988) – are now available to stream on Tubi. While there are two more recent Rambo films (Rambo from 2008 and Rambo: Last Blood from 2019), they aren’t currently on major streaming services, but you can rent or buy them.

Now Is The Perfect Time to Watch the Original Rambo Trilogy

The Rambo movies follow John Rambo, played by Sylvester Stallone, a troubled Vietnam War veteran with exceptional combat skills. Throughout the series, he battles various opponents – from local law enforcement and drug traffickers to enemy soldiers. The original film focuses on a confrontation with police in a small town, while the second sends Rambo on a dangerous mission to find and rescue prisoners of war. The third movie takes him to Afghanistan during the Soviet-Afghan War, where he attempts to free his former commanding officer from the Soviet army.

A new prequel is being made with Noah Centineo playing a young John Rambo, set during the Vietnam War – before the events of the first movie, First Blood.
