Human Qube Games and Book Burner Games have revealed Sonic Terror, a tactical RPG where players use music as magic to fight off an alien parasite. The game will initially launch on PC through Steam, with plans to release it on consoles later. A specific release date hasn’t been announced yet.
Here is an overview of the game, Human Qube Games:
About
Sonic Terror is a strategy RPG where you battle using music against an alien parasite that has made silence a dangerous rule. It’s a turn-based game, meaning players take turns making moves.
In the alternate reality of 1984 depicted in Sonic Terror, you lead an outlaw rock band on tour through a country controlled by a harsh government and invaded by aliens who steal bodies. These aliens fear nothing except music, and your band is the last one still playing it.
You Are Sonic Terror, a Young Rock Band That Refuses to Shut Up
Manage your bandmates’ traits, making sure they stay healthy, focused, and motivated. Then, unleash their music as a powerful force to destroy your opponents.
Each performance is a strategic, turn-based fight – it doesn’t rely on luck or timed button presses. Instead, every note played on the guitar, bass, and drums acts as a magical attack, and winning battles brings you closer to achieving your goal. The music itself changes based on how well you’re doing, growing stronger with success and weakening when you struggle – it’s a dynamic soundtrack that actively responds to your performance.
