As a captivated movie critic, I’m thrilled to share that the showrunner has left us eager fans with a tantalizing promise: Season 3 promises to delve deeper into the intriguing character of Calypso. In a recent interview, the mastermind behind the scenes confided that they aim to unearth more layers about this mysterious figure in the upcoming season.

According to the showrunner, it was crucial for Calypso’s final moments to send a clear message: we are wholeheartedly confirming that there’s much more to this enigmatic character than meets the eye. So buckle up, folks, because Season 3 is set to take us on an even deeper dive into the captivating world of Calypso!

In a surprising turn of events at the end, it was disclosed that Season 3 will delve into the mystery of Sweet Tooth’s father being Pope Charlie Kane. Smith explained that we haven’t visited the East Coast before, but now they are calling it “the Eastern Territory.

The showrunner shared his eagerness to delve into the world creation of Pope Charlie Kane and his expansive part of the post-apocalyptic setting. Furthermore, Smith hinted that there will be plenty of enjoyable moments as Sweet Tooth reconnects with his father.

You can find the complete statements by Michael Jonathan Smith, along with the Season 3 expectations and wishes of the main cast members from the TV series Twisted Metal, all detailed below. Currently, Twisted Metal is available to stream on Peacock.

Despite anticipation among fans about whether Peacock will greenlight another season of the series, the showrunner of Twisted Metal already has a distinct vision for the show’s forthcoming seasons – even proposing a mind-blowing concept for Season 4.

Twisted Metal Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith Teases More Calypso In Season 3

“We Are 100% Confirming There is More to This Guy.”

  • TopMob: “Calypso’s backstory is briefly teased in that very first shot in the finale. Is that something we might see more in the future, and then what was that process of figuring out how much you were going to show us now?”

Michael Jonathan Smith states confidently, “The definite plan for Season 3 is to delve deeper, without a doubt… During our discussions, we decided to fully explore the supernatural elements this season. This choice brought about a sense of liberation as we pondered, ‘What do we aspire to depict? What visual would symbolize that concept best?’ The most thrilling idea that emerged was that of a character climbing out of a well.

The experience is reminiscent of immense fun, and it beautifully reinforces the visual imagery, an element I initially envisioned as part of the idea that he had a well serving as his sanctuary. Originally, I pictured it more like being in a warehouse. However, over time, we developed the concept that it was almost like a miniature universe or pocket dimension, which he could manipulate and navigate at will.

The image of him clambering out of the well had such an impact on us during pre-production that when we filmed the prom scene, we decided to reference it again by changing “Roman” to “Roanoke.” We found it amusing and fitting to continue making connections to this powerful imagery throughout the production.

We didn’t want to reveal too much about him in our show. Instead, we just wanted to hint at his mystery, as we plan to confirm in the final episode that there’s more to this character. Throughout the season, we’ve been dropping hints about him.

Twisted Metal Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith and Star Joe Seanoa On Sweet Tooth’s Father

“We’ve Never Gone to the East Coast.”

In the closing scene, we see Sweet Tooth bound to a vehicle, pulled towards a rendezvous with his estranged dad, Pope Charlie Kane, in what seems to be their long-awaited reunion.

  • TopMob: “What can you tease about the introduction of Pope Charlie Kane and how that’ll switch things up and really change Sweet Tooth’s world?”

Smith expresses his eagerness for the prospect, as he believes that while they have explored both the West Coast and the wild Midwest, they haven’t yet ventured to the East Coast. He refers to the Eastern region as “the Eastern dominion” which he finds intriguing, since the development of that area seems particularly exciting to him.

The concept that Charlie Kane now oversees – I find the chance to create an entire universe around it quite thrilling. What exactly does he have control over? How much of this sphere does this individual claim ownership?… The fascination with him being a Pope is captivating, and I believe it’s going to make the experience even more enjoyable.

This version retains the essence of the original while using simpler, easy-to-read language that maintains a conversational flow and clarity in meaning.

In Season 2, we see a lot about parents and family, as I mentioned. So, it seems likely that this theme will continue into Season 3, as Sweet Tooth encounters his dad. Additionally, if Stu and Sweet Tooth reconnect, it’s reasonable to expect that Sweet Tooth might also meet his grandfather. Therefore, there’s a lot of potential for fun and emotional moments as Sweet Tooth reunites with his father.

Joe Seanoa discussed with TopMob the potential scenarios that might unfold for Sweet Tooth upon reaching his father’s doorstep.

  • TopMob: “I have to address the big tease with Sweet Tooth, who is about to meet his father. Hypothetically, how do you think Sweet Tooth is going to react to seeing his father, and could we be in for an entirely new version of Sweet Tooth?”

Joe Seanoa clarifies, it’s clear we’re referring to his biological father, not the foster one. There’s certainly a backstory there. Earlier this season, Sweet Tooth hinted at it – Joe’s lineage is marked by fathers attempting to harm their sons. Undeniably, there seems to be truth in that… However, once more, Charlie Kane, the influential Pope, has invited his son for a meeting in New York.

The upcoming encounter between the Father and Son could lead to reconciliation or escalate into a chaotic conflict. On the other hand, as Sweet Tooth continues without much supervision, his behavior becomes increasingly violent and potentially more sinister. Therefore, one can only wonder what impact a virtuous figure like the Pope might have on Sweet Tooth’s nature.

Twisted Metal Cast On Their Season 3 Hopes

While Season 3 Has Not Been Renewed, The Cast Has Lots of Hope For Their Characters

As a die-hard fan, I got the exclusive scoop from the talented cast of Twisted Metal about their aspirations for their characters in Season 3.

Saylor Bell Curda, portraying the character Mayhem, admitted she can’t resist “any tidbit of background information.” Expressing her enthusiasm, she mentioned she’d be thrilled to learn more about “Mayhem’s former spouse.

As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I simply can’t resist the tantalizing morsels of character backstories. In particular, delving deeper into Mayhem’s past, perhaps uncovering more details about her ex-husband, would be an absolute treat. It’s amusing to ponder their history, and it was during our Toronto filming stint that this intrigue truly ignited.

During dinner with my fellow actor Patty and our showrunner MJ, I inquired about the background of our character Mayhem. I asked curiously, “‘Could you tell us more about Mayhem’s past? Where did she go? What happened to her? Simply, how did she spend her life?’ Since we are aware of her early life and then there’s a gap afterward.

I received a brief glimpse into an idea that Michael Jackson had, which involved my former husband. When we were married, there was an incident at a fancy restaurant that left me rolling on the floor with laughter – although I can’t disclose the details to avoid any potential repercussions.

It would be absolutely intriguing to learn more about her past, whether it’s details about her former marriage, events that occurred in her childhood, or the circumstances surrounding her separation. That information would definitely be captivating.

Tiana Okoye is looking forward to watching Tina Fey’s character, Dollface, portrayed as a minion and delve into her relationship with Calypso. Moreover, she’s equally eager about the prospect of switching roles between herself and John in this production.

Tiana Okoye expresses enthusiasm about delving deeper into Dollface (Minion)’s character, particularly in relation to Calypso. She is eager to witness Minion in action and explore the dynamic between Minion and Calypso.

In Season 2, Dollface attempts to remind John of their shared past and rekindle their connection, with the roles now reversed as he tries to do the same for her character. This potential shift in their dynamic could lead to an intriguing relationship development. I’m eagerly anticipating this possibility and hoping that we get a Season 3, as I believe it will be quite entertaining!

Mike Mitchell, the actor portraying Twisted Metal tournament winner Stu, expressed his interest in exploring more about Stu’s and Sweet Tooth’s relationship further. Additionally, he expressed enthusiasm for revisiting his character’s storyline as it unfolds from outer space.

As a movie enthusiast, let me express my feelings candidly: Working with Joe has been an absolute joy! I can’t help but be excited about delving deeper into the story of Stu and Sweet Tooth, especially after their separation. I’m eager to explore more facets of Stu’s life, such as his personal struggles, survival tactics, potential romantic relationships, family dynamics, and overall growth. Essentially, I’m curious to see how he evolves in the new Apocalypse scenario, potentially assuming a leadership role.

…I propose that Season 3 begins with ‘Rocket Man’ playing, showcasing my descent from space. It’s quite possible that Stu unintentionally found his exit in an unusual way, and I believe there’s room to delve deeper into this, revealing the specifics of how he managed to descend and uncovering any associated events… Stu seems to have an uncanny knack for good fortune. Not only has he survived this season, but he also appears to have a dose of what some might call ‘fool’s luck.’

Regarding Michael Jonathan Shaw’s character Axel from the series, who appeared to have passed away in the second-to-last episode, the actor hinted that he might want his character to return, potentially being reconnected to the machinery completely: “I ‘dare to hope’ that I could make a comeback, fully integrated with the machine.

Shaw: I have this feeling that he might return completely attached to the machine, perhaps even… I can only hope. I haven’t received any information yet from those in charge, our leader Michael John Smith, or anyone else. But I can only hope, as if he returns with a gleaming mechanical body. I haven’t heard anything from our leader, Michael Johnathan Smith, or anyone else of that nature. But I can only hope, as if he returns with a gleaming mechanical body.
