Actors Philip Olivier and Suzanne Collins, who previously starred on the TV series “Brookside,” will reappear in their original roles when the show makes its highly anticipated comeback this year.
The popular television series airing on Channel 4, well-known for its distinctive character, will be coming back for a unique joint episode to celebrate Hollyoaks reaching its 30th year. This special event is scheduled to broadcast in October.
In a repeat performance, Olivier takes on the character Timothy O’Leary, and we see Collins return as Nikki Shadwick.
Olivier fondly recalled his days at Brookside and eagerly anticipates revisiting the place again, for he’s moved on to roles in Holby City and Benidorm since then.
Back when I joined Brookside at 15, it wouldn’t have crossed my mind that three decades later, people would still refer to me as ‘Tinhead.’

Meanwhile, Collins said it had been “life-changing getting cast in this role all those years ago”.
She expressed: “For almost three decades, I’ve had the fortune of working globally with exceptional individuals. Yet, none compare to my Brookside family. It feels as if I’m returning home.
From 1998 to 2003, Shadwick made an appearance on the soap. After the passing of her father, she formed a strong connection with Jimmy Corkhill, portrayed by the late Dean Sullivan.
She remarked: “His absence will undoubtedly stir emotions, yet I believe that from above, he’s gazing proudly at us, with a smile on his face.
In 1996, Tim first appeared on the soap opera, portraying the role of Carmel and Tommy O’Leary’s son, and the sibling of Ben and Melanie.
Initially, I used to embody a character with a heartless, aggressive demeanor, but a chilling incident where I nearly took my sister’s life left an indelible mark on me. Since then, I’ve been striving to change my path and become a better person.
Afterward, he developed feelings for Emily, Nikki’s sibling, who was portrayed by Jennifer Ellison. They tied the knot in the year 2001.
Or simply:
He eventually fell for Emily (Nikki’s sister) played by Jennifer Ellison and they got married in 2001.
In this revival, the new cast members will team up with Sue Johnston, John McArdle, and Paul Usher, who are all returning to play Sheila Grant, Billy Corkhill, and Barry Grant again.
