Two unique Xbox console-exclusive games, which can only be played on PC and Xbox consoles, will make their way to the PlayStation 5 this coming November. One game originates from Microsoft’s own Xbox Game Studios, while the other is a third-party production that Xbox secured exclusive rights for. Regrettably, only one of these games will debut with upgrades specifically for PS5 Pro users at launch.
The two exclusive games for Xbox consoles under discussion are “Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition” from 2021 and “Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl” due in 2024. The first will be available on other platforms for the first time on November 4, at a price of $40 for PS5 users. On the other hand, “Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl” arrives on November 20, and it offers enhancements for PS5 Pro systems. However, its cost is slightly higher, priced at $60 on the PlayStation Store.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl
Initially launched by GSC Game World on November 20, 2024, exclusively for PC and Xbox Series X|S, the highly anticipated first-person shooter game, Stalker 2, hit the market. In its first two days, this much-anticipated sequel (a follow-up to 2009’s Call of Pripyat) managed to sell more than a million copies, despite not being available on PS5 or Nintendo Switch. This strong sales figure is notable considering the game received mixed reviews, as indicated by its 73 score on Metacritic.
The initial issues with the game’s performance at its launch undoubtedly affected the overall score. However, these problems have since been addressed. Although PlayStation 5 users had to wait a year for Stalker 2, they are starting with a more polished version compared to those on Xbox and PC at launch. It’s uncertain if the game will continue to receive regular updates post-PS5 release, though.
Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition
For PlayStation 5 (PS5) gamers, they’ve had a relatively short wait for Stalker 2 compared to Age of Empires IV. In fact, Age of Empires IV was released in 2021, which was before Xbox began releasing its games multi-platform, including the PS5. Initially, it seemed unlikely that Age of Empires IV would ever come to the PS5, but it will soon be available. This is significant not only as an Xbox Game Studios release, but also because there are few excellent real-time strategy games on PS5, so this addition for fans of the genre will be notable.
Upon its release in 2021, Age of Empires IV earned an impressive Metacritic score of 81 for Relic Entertainment and World’s Edge. Consequently, when this game launches on PS5, it is expected to rank among the top-rated real-time strategy games available on PlayStation consoles.

Although enthusiasts of PlayStation 5 may have to be patient a while longer to experience these two exclusive Xbox games, it’s worth noting that an Xbox game titled “Gears of War: Reloaded” will soon be available on PS5 towards the end of this month. Moreover, the game named “Lapin” is set to debut on PlayStation 5 in September as well.
Despite everything discussed, and as usual, we welcome your thoughts! Which PlayStation 5 game are you most eager to experience on the platform, given it’s an Xbox title?
