Two of DreamWorks Animation’s All-Time Best Movies Are Returning to Streaming

The DreamWorks Animation library stands out as one of the most robust, housing popular franchises such as Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon. These films often perform well on streaming platforms. However, these series periodically vanish from major services. Interestingly, the original How to Train Your Dragon was briefly absent from prominent streamers following the live-action adaptation’s release, but starting next week, this beloved animated film will once again be available.

On September 1st, the first installment of the beloved animated series “How to Train Your Dragon” is making its return to a significant streaming platform like Hulu for the first time in over a month. This original movie will be accompanied by its direct sequel, “How to Train Your Dragon 2”, which is currently exclusive to Prime Video. Unfortunately, the third movie in the series, “How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World”, is not available on any streaming services at this time.

The “How to Train Your Dragon” series is among the most successful and highly praised productions from DreamWorks Animation. This was evident during the summer when the live-action adaptation performed exceptionally well at the box office. Original director Dean DeBlois took charge of this live-action version, which has since earned over $628 million worldwide.

Remarkably, the earnings from the live-action movie surpassed expectations to become the top-grossing installment within the series. Released in 2014, How to Train Your Dragon 2 amassed an impressive $621 million. To put it into perspective, every film in this franchise has been a colossal victory for DreamWorks, with even the lowest-performing one taking home nearly half a billion dollars.

Coming Soon to Hulu

At the beginning of September, the “How to Train Your Dragon” movies are among several films that will be added to Hulu. In fact, on the first day of the month, numerous titles such as “Clueless”, “Jennifer’s Body”, “Night at the Museum”, “School of Rock”, and many others, will make their way onto the service.
