Steam is currently giving away two PC games for free, but the reasons are quite different. One is a recent release from 2024, and the giveaway celebrates the announcement of its sequel. The other, from 2019, is free only until it’s removed from the Steam store, after which it won’t be available at all. Both games can be played on the Steam Deck, though they aren’t officially ‘Verified’ for it.
So, Steam’s giving away two free PC games right now, which is awesome! I noticed Graveyard Keeper is free until April 13th – it came out in 2019 and they’re doing this to hype up the new sequel. The other one is Burning Skies Arcade, a newer game from 2024, and it’s free until April 27th, but after that, it’s gone for good – so you gotta grab it while you can!
Graveyard Keeper
Graveyard Keeper is a well-regarded management simulation game. With over 16,850 reviews on Steam, it’s proven quite popular for an independent title. Importantly, 84% of those reviews are positive, earning it a “Very Positive” rating – one of the highest scores possible on the platform.
This game puts you in charge of running a cemetery. You’ll collect resources, craft items, and face tough choices as you try to build a successful business out of a medieval graveyard. Expect to spend between 50 and 70 hours playing.
Burning Skies Arcade
Burning Skies Arcade is a free, streamlined version of the upcoming game Burning Skies, scheduled for release in 2026. Early reviews on Steam are positive, with 83% of 55 users giving it a ‘Very Positive’ rating.
This game is a classic arcade-style shooter where you play as a pilot fighting to liberate a city under attack. It’s not as lengthy as games like Graveyard Keeper; you can likely finish it in around two hours if you enjoy its retro style.
