The popular Ubisoft game is currently free for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, as per the Xbox Game Pass charts. Unfortunately, this game can only be accessed through Xbox Game Pass PC and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions, not standard or core versions. This means it’s available to only half of the Xbox Game Pass tiers.
As for how long this game will remain on Xbox Game Pass, that information is not yet known. However, since it was just added earlier this month, subscribers likely have a decent amount of time to enjoy the Ubisoft game.
The current spotlight is on “Assassin’s Creed Mirage,” a game from Ubisoft, which has been accessible through Xbox Game Pass for several weeks now and remains popular among subscribers. In the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate ranking, it currently stands third, just behind “Gears of War: Reloaded” and “Grounded 2.” Notably, it surpasses other notable games like “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,” “Minecraft,” “Rainbow Six Siege,” “GTA 5,” “Forza Horizon 5,” and “Dead by Daylight.” Other than the top three games, the rest of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate top 10 consists mainly of older games with consistent chart presence.
Given the new releases that Xbox Game Pass has been integrating, it’s somewhat unexpected not to find more fresh additions in the top 10. Interestingly, one of the best PS2 games ever made was recently added to Xbox Game Pass, yet it hasn’t made it into the charts, indicating subscribers may not be exploring new content as extensively as they do with standout titles from the library.
About the Game
Although Assassin’s Creed Mirage isn’t the most recently released Assassin’s Creed game, having been surpassed by Assassin’s Creed Shadows this year, it is currently the newest addition to the series on Xbox Game Pass, having been launched in 2023 by Ubisoft Bordeaux. It serves as the 13th mainline installment and a successor to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which initially started off as an expansion project for it. Upon its release, it received a Metacritic score of 76, and as of 2024, it is estimated to have sold approximately five million units.
The charm of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, as our review indicates, lies in its emphasis on a more structured and stealth-oriented approach compared to the modern RPG-style games in the series like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla, and now Shadows. Essentially, it harks back to the original Assassin’s Creed style. If you were a fan of the series before it evolved into an open-world RPG franchise, you will find much appeal in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Conversely, if you prefer the newer games, you might not find as much enjoyment with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, which transports players to 9th-century Baghdad during the Islamic Golden Age – a setting reminiscent of the first Assassin’s Creed game.
Players considering to play “Assassin’s Creed Mirage” through Xbox Game Pass can anticipate investing around 20 hours to finish the main game. For those aiming for completion, it might take approximately 30 hours. However, this time could extend when the game’s free DLC launches later in the year. Since it is included in Xbox Game Pass, subscribers avoid a $50 purchase and have a 20% discount option if they choose to buy the game, provided it remains part of their subscription.
Having gone over everything, and as usual, we’d love to hear your thoughts. By any chance, have you given the game AC Mirage a try through Xbox Game Pass?
