Ubisoft has officially confirmed the existence of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag Resynced, according to the franchise’s new leadership.
In a recent and insightful blog post, Jean Guesdon, the new head of content, shared some interesting details.
Rumors about the next Assassin’s Creed game are always circulating, and the series’ motto, “Nothing is true. Everything is permitted,” often applies. However, some recent whispers seem particularly credible, so it’s worth paying attention to what’s coming.
The blatant teaser is followed by this picture, which clearly shows the remake’s logo:
Everyone’s been talking about this project for ages, but Ubisoft hasn’t officially said much about it until now. It’s good to finally have confirmation that it’s really happening.
Even so, the major announcement still seems a while off. Reports indicate the planned revival of Black Flag has been delayed, potentially by as much as a year, due to changes within the company.
While we wait for new details, Guesdon also shared an update about Assassin’s Creed Hexe, which was revealed alongside Assassin’s Creed Shadows some time ago.
We haven’t revealed much about this new Assassin’s Creed game yet, but our experienced team at Ubisoft Montreal is crafting it with a lot of dedication. Players can look forward to a distinct, more mature story set during a significant historical period.
We’re carefully working towards our big goals, so we won’t be sharing much for a bit. We appreciate all the excitement and support, and we’ll reveal more details as soon as we’re ready.
The franchise boss even mentions Invictus — the supposed PvP Assassin’s Creed game.
Guesdon explained that while the project represents a new take on multiplayer for the game series, it’s different from what people have been speculating about.
In addition to Resynced, Hexe, and Invictus, we’re working on several other projects, like Assassin’s Creed Jade, each at a different stage of development. We’re also exploring the possibility of adding cooperative gameplay back into future Assassin’s Creed games – something many players have asked for.
That was surprisingly open and detailed information about what’s coming next for the Assassin’s Creed series.
