Though UFO 50 by Mossmouth didn’t make a big impact at today’s Indie World Showcase, it was announced for the Nintendo Switch. What’s exciting is that it’s already available on the platform right now! You can watch the launch trailer here: [Launch Trailer Link]
Launched on PC just a year ago, “UFO 50” is an assortment of 50 vintage-style video games spanning diverse genres from various creators (even though in the game world, they’re all attributed to the fictional UFO Soft). Some games are quite straightforward, like the platformer “Barbuta” and the arcade racer “Paint Chase”, while others, such as “Magic Garden”, prove surprisingly hard to put down.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve come across some games with substantial playtimes, such as “Grimstone,” a Wild West-themed role-playing game, and “Party House,” a deckbuilding strategy game. Completing each of these titles grants you unique collectibles, but the real treasure lies in uncovering clues about UFO Soft’s history. If you’re sharp enough, you might even stumble upon the elusive 51st title hidden within!
The game titled UFO 50 has garnered widespread praise from both critics and gamers, and it’s been recognized as one of the top 20 outstanding PC games of 2024 and among the top 30 exceptional PC games ever created.
