2025 will mark the conclusion of Marvel’s iconic series, “Ultimate Spider-Man.” Since the inception of Marvel’s new Ultimate Universe in 2023, “Ultimate Spider-Man” has been a standout title, penned by Jonathan Hickman and beautifully illustrated by Marco Checchetto. The unique twist in this series is that Peter Parker, our Spidey protagonist, is a married man with children, only donning the Spider-Man suit as an adult. Throughout the run, there have been numerous surprises involving characters like Harry Osborn, Gwen Stacy, Uncle Ben, and the Sinister Six, to name a few. Despite the enjoyment fans have derived from
At San Diego Comic-Con during the Marvel Comics: Ultimate Universe Panel, it was confirmed by writer Jonathan Hickman, Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski, Ultimate Editor Wil Moss, Ultimates writer Deniz Camp, and Ultimate Wolverine writer Chris Condon that December’s issue 24 of Ultimate Spider-Man will mark the end of the series.
Marvel hints that this series is set to conclude intentionally, and fans should brace themselves for a stunning ending that could make it one of the most cherished Spider-Man stories in recent memory. This installment brims with significant—and surprising—events affecting the entire Parker clan: Peter, Mary Jane, Richard, May, and Uncle Ben, as well as Harry Osborn, Gwen Stacy and others. Additionally, it will lay foundations for captivating storylines to unfold in the future.
According to Hickman, “Everything I proposed came to pass; there have been no changes. It’s been satisfying to carry out the plan successfully, and all of it leads up to this issue. Fans of the Ultimate Universe will find it thrilling. Writing Ultimate Spider-Man has truly been a delight.
On the cover of issue #24 of Ultimate Spider-Man, you’ll find a gathering of key characters from the highly anticipated storyline. These include Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson, Richard and May Parker, J. Jonah Jameson, Uncle Ben, Iron Lad, members of Mary Jane’s family, the Mysterios (Robbie Robertson, Quentin Beck, Vanessa Fisk, James Wesley), Shocker, Sandman, Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn/Green Goblin, Otto Octavius, the Venom symbiote/picotech suit, Bullseye, Felicia Hardy/Black Cat, Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Walter Hardy/Black Cat, Mole Man, Kraven the Hunter, and Mr. Negative.
It’s important to mention that so far in the series, we haven’t witnessed Venom adopt his classic appearance with the extended mouth, long tongue, and sharp teeth. However, it seems likely that this will occur before Ultimate Spider-Man concludes.
In issue #23 of Ultimate Spider-Man, the cover depicts a fierce confrontation between Spiderman and the Kingpin (Wilson Fisk). A team consisting of Spiderman, Green Goblin, Gwen Stacy, J. Jonah Jameson, and Uncle Ben have been collaborating to dismantle Kingpin’s criminal organization.
