Armor Save the X-Men as Kageyama Makes His Move

After her rescue, Armor regains consciousness and learns about the impending conflict between the two teams from news reports.

One of the standout aspects of Ultimate X-Men is Peach Momoko’s ability to reimagine familiar superhero scenarios with a distinct style. In this instance, she blends elements of manga and Western comics, showcasing the X-Men trying to keep up against the Children’s larger numbers. However, Kageyama now has access to not only his own powers but also the Maester’s technology, including the MY-X drug. Initially, Ultimate X-Men focused on Armor managing her powers, while Kageyama remained in the background, employing his ominous abilities against her. Later, The Maester and the Children of the Atom emerged as antagonists, particularly after they captured Armor and Kageyama by The Maester. The Maester’s relentless pursuit of power could have continued until the book’s conclusion; however, author Momoko opted to reinstate Kageyama as the main adversary for the final part of the storyline.

As a devoted comic book aficionado, I’ve noticed that the dynamic between Armor and Kageyama might significantly influence the climax of Ultimate X-Men. In stark contrast, it seems that Kageyamada has never known the warmth of genuine care from others, a fact subtly highlighted in the latest data page that presents a comic strip depicting his lonely existence. Could this be Momoko’s way of hinting at friendship’s transformative power for Kageyamada? Will the X-Men manage to sway him towards change or will they be forced to confront and ultimately dismantle the shattered remnants of that troubled soul?
