Okay, so this is wild. Apparently, the new update for RoboCop: Rogue City on Steam totally swapped out the game files with an old build of Hunter: The Reckoning – a game nobody was even expecting! I saw a bunch of people on Twitter reporting it, and it sounds like a really bizarre glitch… or maybe a mix-up at the developers? It’s just crazy!
Hunter: The Reckoning is a role-playing game set in the World of Darkness universe. Several video games based on it have been released, starting with Hunter: The Reckoning for Xbox and GameCube in May 2002. This was followed by Hunter: The Reckoning – Wayward (PlayStation 2, September 2003), Hunter: The Reckoning – Redeemer (Xbox, October 2003), and Hunter: The Reckoning – The Beast of Glenkildove (PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and web browsers, January 2025). High Voltage Software developed all of the console versions of the game.
Today’s game update included a version of Hunter: The Reckoning from May 20, 2025, which had previously been scheduled for RoboCop: Rogue City. Screenshots suggest the game is still incomplete, and the credits indicate it was developed by Teyon. It’s unknown if this is a work in progress or a cancelled project that was never officially announced.
Gematsu has contacted Teyon for comment and will update this post with any response.
