DC Comics is currently experiencing a surge in popularity, fueled by titles like *Superman* and the second season of *Peacemaker*. This momentum has been building since last summer, leading to a major storyline involving a war against Darkseid, which began in *DC All-In* #1. *Superman* has been central to this plot, and issue #30 reveals that a lesser-known, but highly anticipated, hero will play a crucial role in defeating Darkseid. This makes them a prime target for Darkseid’s most powerful followers, the Darkseid Legion of the Absolute Earth.
The story started in *DC All-In* #1 when Darkseid, sacrificing his most powerful followers, gained control of the Spectre’s power. He then attacked the Justice League’s Watchtower, and though the League seemingly defeated him, Darkseid died leaving a strange tear in reality. Surprisingly, Booster Gold volunteered to investigate this fissure, disappearing inside. Recent issues of *Superman* have focused on Superman and Superboy-Prime’s attempts to rescue him. *Superman* #30 explains why Booster Gold is so crucial – he holds the key to either giving Darkseid control of the entire universe or destroying him completely.
Booster Gold Has Become Infused With Omega Energy
Issues 28 through 30 of *Superman* revealed Booster Gold’s crucial role with the Darkseid Legion. When a dimensional rift opened, Booster was pulled through and unexpectedly absorbed Omega energy – the source of Darkseid’s power across the DC Universe. For two years, the Darkseid Legion pursued him, wanting Darkseid to destroy him and reclaim the energy. They finally captured him after a long chase, though multiple Earths’ heroes fought to delay them. Luckily, Superman and Superboy-Prime arrived just in time to rescue him.
As a huge fan, I’ve been following Darkseid’s attempts to grab ultimate power for ages, and this latest plan almost worked! Luckily, Booster Gold stumbled into something called the Omega Rift – we saw in *Justice League Unlimited* that thing can grant incredible power. Apparently, Booster forged a really strong connection to it! Superman managed to pull him out just in time and bring him back to the Watchtower, and now the team has what could be the key to stopping Darkseid before *DC KO* happens. It’s a really exciting development!
