The Undertaker is one of wrestling’s most iconic figures, and always draws attention when he appears. He stopped wrestling a few years ago, so even scheduled appearances create excitement. However, tonight was different – his appearance at WWE’s first show on ESPN, Wrestlepalooza, was a complete surprise, and the reason behind it was even more unexpected.
Becky Lynch hadn’t won a match in a decade, but she finally defeated AJ Lee. Just as the victory was celebrated, the arena went dark and a familiar gong sounded. When the lights came back on, The Undertaker had appeared! He made his way to the ring and announced a surprising honor for Stephanie McMahon: she would be the first member of the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame class.
A True Surprise
As The Undertaker approached the ring on his motorcycle, he noticed Stephanie McMahon in the audience. They exchanged waves and a laugh, but then he unexpectedly climbed over the security barrier and sat down beside her.
The Undertaker chatted with the audience briefly before building anticipation for a special announcement. That announcement was that Vince McMahon will be the first person inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2026. McMahon was visibly emotional as the news sunk in, and he shared a hug with The Undertaker as the crowd cheered. Now, fans are eager to find out who else will be joining him in the Hall of Fame class.
Last year’s Hall of Fame class featured a special announcement honoring Triple H. This year, the class of 2025 includes Triple H, Lex Luger, Michelle McCool, and the tag team The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon). Honorees also included wrestling legends Kamala, Dory Funk Sr., and Ivan Koloff, along with a special ‘Immortal Moment’ recognizing the iconic match between Bret Hart and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
The annual Hall of Fame ceremony usually happens during WrestleMania weekend, and it’s expected to do so again at WrestleMania 42. WrestleMania itself will be held in Las Vegas for two years in a row, continuing the recent tradition of being a two-night event. However, WrestleMania 43 will break from this pattern, taking place in Saudi Arabia – marking the first time the event has been held outside of North America.
