Filming has begun for the seventh series of the popular ITV drama, Unforgotten.
The show was renewed for another season shortly after its finale last year. Now, production on season 7 is officially starting, which is exciting news for fans!
We also have news about the cast for the upcoming season! Some well-known and talented British actors will be joining the show, promising another suspenseful season of the crime drama.
Sophie Rundle, known for her roles in After the Flood and Peaky Blinders, will lead the cast of the new series, playing a social worker named Mary Brock who is dealing with personal struggles.
Kirsty J Curtis, known for her role in Joan, will play the well-regarded inmate Lacee Cook. Julian Rhind-Tutt from The Reckoning will portray Hugh Swafham, a man battling addiction, and Natalie Simpson of Trigger Point will play Ruby Allenford, a determined journalist.

Each season introduces a new group of characters who are all connected to the central mystery. Everyone is a suspect, and it’s clear they’re all hiding something. The series promises these characters have hidden pasts, but the details will unfold as the story progresses.
The new case for detectives Sunny Khan and Jess James begins with a disturbing find: human remains discovered hidden in the crawl space of a London home in Ladbroke Grove.
Initial forensic work indicates the remains are of a child who was hidden for several years. The investigation becomes particularly difficult for the team when DNA evidence connects the victim to an old, already-solved case. This forces DI Sunny Khan and DCI Jess James to reopen the original investigation and uncover what really happened decades ago.
We’ll have to wait and see what case the new season focuses on and if it’s one viewers might recognize from previous seasons.

Joining the cast of Unforgotten season 7 are Jo Hartley, known for her role in ‘Adolescence’; Paul Kaye, famous from ‘Game of Thrones’; Nicholas Burns (‘The Serpent Queen’); Andrew Tiernan (‘Joan’); Ben Bailey Smith (‘Black Mirror’); Dominic Coleman (‘Bridgerton’); David Fynn (‘Daddy Issues’); India Brown (‘Honey Bunch’); and Sonya Nisa (‘Waterloo Road’).
The series also stars Joshua Sher, Rachel Atkins, Roger Dipper, Cameron Jack, Mark Jax, Joe McNamara, and Yazdan Qafouri, alongside Paula Wilcox from Coronation Street and Philip Martin Brown, known for his role in Waterloo Road.
Returning cast members include Jordan Long as DS Murray Boulting, Carolina Main as DS Fran Lingley, and Pippa Nixon as DC Kaz Willets, all popular faces at the police station. Georgia Mackenzie also returns as pathologist Dr. Leanne Balcombe, alongside Jess and Sunny.
Fans can expect to see more of Jess’s ex-husband, Steve, in season 7, with actor Andrew Lancel (known from The Bill) returning to the role. Kate Robbins (Afterlife) will also be back as Jess’s mother, Kate.
When production began, ITV’s Huw Kennair Jones, who commissions dramas, shared his excitement about returning to the world of ‘Unforgotten,’ promising this new series will be just as compelling as previous ones.
Chris Lang has done it again, crafting a captivating story with memorable characters that will have viewers – and the characters Jess and Sunny – on the edge of their seats until the final moments. We’re excited to have Andy Wilson directing all episodes, and with Mainstreet Pictures producing, we’re confident this will be another excellent series.
The upcoming season will be filmed in various locations across the UK, bringing the story to life in places like Ladbroke Grove in London, Great Yarmouth in Norfolk, Coventry, Halifax, and even Reading Prison.
