As a long-time gamer and horror enthusiast, I can’t contain my excitement for this year’s Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines haunted house at Halloween Horror Nights! The announcement that they will be paying tribute to iconic female monsters from classic Universal films is music to my ears.
At Halloween Horror Nights, the classic horror films “Insidious” and “A Quiet Place” have been verified to inspire new haunted houses. However, for their grand finale, they will honor the horror legends that made fear popular at the studio. Introducing “Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines,” a haunted house that pays tribute to iconic monsters while bringing them back in exhilarating ways. Get ready to encounter terrifying female characters who have long haunted our nightmares. Opening dates are August 30th at Universal Orlando Resort and September 5th at Universal Studios Hollywood when Halloween Horror Nights begins.
According to the press release, the haunted houses for “The Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines” will offer visitors an entirely new petrifying narrative. In this thrilling tale, guests become part of the epic struggle between two previously unforeseen alliances of iconic female monsters from Universal.
At Universal Studios Hollywood, the movie studio renowned for pioneering the horror genre, a new haunted house will carry greater significance. Situated in legendary Sound Stage 12 on the studio lot, this is the very location where numerous iconic Universal horror films such as “Dracula” (1931), “Frankenstein” (1931), and “The Bride of Frankenstein” (1935) were originally produced. This historic backdrop adds to the authenticity of the experience, making it a must-visit for horror film enthusiasts.
SLASH, a GRAMMY Award-winning musician, is once again teaming up with Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights. This collaboration marks their sixth season together. For this new haunted house, SLASH will create an original score, which will be played alongside his previous compositions. A restricted edition vinyl album of these scores will be available only at Universal Studios Hollywood during the event.
At Universal Orlando Resort, Emmy-nominated composer Sara Barone will craft a unique score for a new haunted house, enhancing the experience for visitors. She previously collaborated on BBC’s “Planet Earth III” with Hans Zimmer and Jacob Shea, as well as Amazon’s “Silver and the Book of Dreams.” Currently, Barone is part of Universal’s Composers Initiative, a two-year program overseen by the Film Music team and Universal Talent Development & Inclusion. This exclusive opportunity grants composers unprecedented access to the studio process and scoring assignments.
